Yeah, I don't get how the definition of hipster now seems to apply to people who like things that are popular.

well, as i've come to understand, the definition of hipster is someone who likes or does something unpopular exclusively because it's unpopular, and dislikes or doesn't do something exclusively because it's popular or "mainstream"

and apparently my starfish aunt and her husband think i'm a hipster for not liking mainstream music
