can we talk about crystal Pepsi instead.

it's like every time someone gets banned you feel obligated to stuff talk them almost as if you're too much of a forgetin pusillanimous individual to say it to their face.

i love you so much for saying this

plane belly

the A330 has a fat belly. paint job + low image quality = the strange looking highlights you've got

actually yeah I'm out too, I don't really see the rp being very enjoyable from here on out

hold the door for me while i grab my coat

blum did get involved in spain, however, and the group stayed strong

that's my point. non-player countries shouldn't diverge from their historical paths unless directly pushed by player countries

it's a relatively big country and the capital is fairly close to the border. the eastern muslims revolt against the sudden change in government

1: the eastern population are the kurds and armenians - populations known for, namely, being oppressed and slaughtered by the turks.

2: this is not the ottoman empire. istanbul is not the capitol, ankara is.

3: yugoslavia, albania, and greece have an orthodox majority. religious unrest would be present in them, too, not just turkey.

**revised
portugal, cuba, and sweden straight up wouldn't have joined
poland joins the allies despite their tensions with the soviets because they will otherwise be conquered by either the germans or the soviets
ireland and belgium join due to the UK turning fascist and the invasion of the netherlands, respectively
australia and new zealand are dead set against the fascist anglosphere and will help to put an end to it.

so australia and new zealand support the japanese threat to the pacific?

also norway should be just like sweden. they were also strongly neutralist, and it was only the historical invasion by germany that forced them to enter the war.

by the way i forgot to mention this but france was already socialist at the start of this RP. leon blum refused to intervene in spain, resulting in leftist infighting and a general collapse of his government influence. this led to the french right growing, rather than shrinking as you've portrayed it. a fascist britain (france's newest friend) would easily have encouraged a fascist france, not discouraged it.

2621
yeah that's true but it's a stupid concept and nobody should be forced to have a 'casus beli' to have fun and do what they want with their country. declare war on someone? react to it yourself or have the NPC countries react to it (should the RP host do that, that is)

the idea of a CB is that it puts down a guideline for your war goal along with a political shield for you to use in defense of your war

in this case the CB is, as previously mentioned, imperialism

it doesn't have to be a genuine moral plea, or a good excuse really

from wikipedia: In formally articulating a casus belli, a government typically lays out its reasons for going to war, its intended means of prosecuting the war, and the steps that others might take to dissuade it from going to war. It attempts to demonstrate that it is going to war only as a last resort (ultima ratio) and that it has "just cause" for doing so.

i'd say that sounds a lot like italy when the balkans nations ignored its demands

I would've been fine with declaring on the netherlands for no stated reason by the way, but I'd rather there be a reason behind it for rp purposes, it just looks strange if I don't but I don't see it as needed

essentially this

again, CBs are all political. there shouldn't be a hard block if you don't have a CB manufactured, and even then, anything relevant can be a decent CB
they /do/ mitigate foreign disdain if it's a good CB though

2622
so we agree that imperialism is a valid CB, but there's a different political reaction to it compared to nationalism?

when i said "no real justification", i meant it from a political european perspective. i didn't mean it from an OOC perspective

whats with casus beli being a big thing all of a sudden

i don't remember the words being used at all around the time of the other nation rps before the most recent until paradox started memeing it up with hoi4 and eu4 and suddenly it's some kind of unspoken thing among people here

paradox only helped popularize it. casus belli was already an established concept

2623
and my casus beli was wanting more resources, they're both true justifications

i'm not saying you can't declare war using them as CBs

i'm saying there's a different political reaction to outright resource wars and wars of cultural unification

2624
I don't even know where you're going with that, you took canada for resources among other things and I'm doing the same to the NL in indonesia

the casus belli for annexing canada was pan-american nationalism.

2625
ok, so explain how OUR reasons aren't real justifications

because it's just blatant imperialism

nobody can realistically say that fascist italy has any true ties to the roman empire (rome itself having gained the lands italy is attacking now through conquest) beyond latin inheritance roughly similar in concentration to that of france or spain

and the UK invading the netherlands, well, it's the UK invading the netherlands. unless a top british scientist found out that unless the dutch are subjugated they'll all go mad and bomb france or something i don't see a real justification

i'm not trying to attack you or italy on an OOC or IC level, but there still is a difference between imperialism and nationalism in terms of how the public sees it
