I see people use that one more to express lightheartedness in a post that may not come off that way.

I see people use it for the inverse: to intentionally make a post that seems lighthearted come off as being more of a jackass.

I'm not sure if someone has already said this but it depends on your usage of the word!
If you're using it to mean the food, then you wouldn't pluralize beef. Instead, you would say "I had two different types of beef" or "I had double the beef" or something.
If you meant it like having a gripe with someone, it would be beefs.
"I have beefs with people all over town"

While it seems like I'm responding to myself, actually this is Trinick arguing with neonfallout about her grammar.

You wouldn't say "I have beefs with people all over town" because that would imply that for each individual throughout the town, you have more than one beef. You would say "I have beef with people all over town." Furthermore, the plural of beef is technically beeves, not beef. However, you're right in that 99% of the time you would use the singular form with the plural on a different word, like "two cuts of beef" or "many plates of beef."

Pretty much all the emoticons have gone through their cycle to denote some flavor of sarcasm. My personal favorite was :cookieMonster:.

One of my favorite places here in San Diego is a beautiful, expansive park called Balboa park that features awe inspiring architecture, a beautiful atrium/garden, and a gorgeous koi pond/ reflecting pool. It was in this koi pond (one of my favorite places to go) that I witnessed a small turtle kill and eat an entire rat by taking relatively small bites out of it.
It may not have been too gory but I will never, ever be able to get that image out of my mind.

This is a little off topic but I felt the need to say all of this- sorry
 Real talk though:
I know I joined this forum after all of the drama with Badspot and everything, but I love Badspot and his general presence.
He's almost like a mythical creature the way he pops up every once in a while to add a small comment or make clarification. He will say a single thing and then vanish. The following comments are typically people just saying "OMG BADSPOT". Sometimes he'll appear on a server, say nothing, lurk for a moment and then vanish once more. Again, following that, people will freak out.
He's almost omnipotent in the way he does things. Need to know if someone is an alt? Badspot will pop up and tell you- clearly and concisely- and then vanish for the entirety of the thread.
Everything he says is iconic- it's pure gold. He's just the right amount of apathetic, as though he knows what he's created and he's accepted it for what it is.
That's another thing I love about Badspot- he's fully accepted the monster he's created. I think we tend to forget what this game and forum were intended to be. A fun little game and a forum for people who enjoyed it. And, instead, he got this.
I have never experienced anything like the blockland forums. There is nothing like this place in existence anywhere else. The community is small enough that we all know each other. You know people you love and people you don't love so much, and yet you really do know EVERYONE.
Every time someone visits me I revel in the fact that Badspot has no idea what he's done for me in my life. If he hadn't created this Lego game, I wouldn't have my best friend. Isn't that crazy? I never would have met him in my entire life. If it wasn't for this little Lego game, I would never have met Rooged- who flew here from Florida just to hang out with me. Hell, Badspot made it possible for me to meet Rusty who flew here from an entirely different country! And he has no idea. He has no clue that he is the reason I have almost all of the most important people in my life.

TL; DR Badspot changed my life and he has absolutely no idea
