Ugly OP is uglyThe TrilogyWorld of TanksWorld of WarplanesWorld of Warships (go here for more info)World of Tanks is the first game in the Wargaming trilogy. It focuses on tanks (duh), tank destroyers, and SPGs (Self Propelled Guns). Unlike its sequels World of Tanks puts a much bigger role on strategy.
System RequirementsI don't feel like filling this out but you should be able to play it if you have any computer new enough it can run windows 7. My pc is crap and can run this. I will fill this out upon request if you really want to be 100% positive and see for yourself you can run it.
Tank TypesLight Tanks: Light tanks are the eyes of a team. Most light tanks have light armor, low health, and a weak gun which means going head to head with anything other than a light tank is Self Delete. They make up for their flaws however with speed and maneuverability making them the ideal scouts as well as artillery hunters.
Medium Tanks: Medium tanks are the jack of all trades. They can be used for almost anything whether it be scouting or defending, unfortunately because of this they are worse at any task. This may be a deterrent but keep in mind this means you can shift your focus to wherever it is needed and you might just be the extra push needed to ensure victory for your team. Medium tanks are best used as a front to second line support.
Heavy Tanks: With the largest health pool and strongest armor these tanks are sponges for shells, this comes at a price however. Heavy tanks are slow and incredibly bad at maneuvering meaning that half the match will be just getting to the battle. Once at the battle this tank will be the main focus of enemy fire so watch out if you choose to play as one.
Tank Destroyers: A tank destroyers armor, speed, and health pool varies from TD to TD but one thing remains constant: big gun. Tank destroyers are the snipers of the tank world and will often times serve best far away. The guns are accurate and do a ton of damage with high entry. So why should you stay back? Most tank destroyers don't have turrets and thus have to rotate the entire tank to shoot outside of a certain distance left or right which leaves the tank exposed. On top of this a tracked TD is an easy target for anyone, even a light tank. Some tank destroyers actually have a turret but as previously stated most do not.
SPG (Artillery): The only thing with a more powerful gun than a tank destroyer is an SPG, but don't hurry into battle with one just yet. SPG are mostly slow and have the lightest armor because they are designed for long range. When entering sniper mode instead of a view though the barrel you will get an aerial view which will allow you to aim farther away. An unfortunate characteristic of SPG is that they are sometimes inaccurate but when a shot hits you are almost always guaranteed a critical hit or if the vehicle has light armor a destruction. Be careful as SPG are prime targets for scouts.
Tips and TricksStay on the move: Unless you are an SPG or Tank Destroyer you will be spotted by other tanks. You might be tempted to stop and aim your gun but that is Self Delete. An immobile tank is a prime target for enemy SPG. Only stop moving when you have cover to protect from SPG and the nearby tanks.
Scout: While it might seem like avoiding battle is a bad idea it really isn't. Scouting for your team allows an SPG to see where enemy tanks are and fire on them. You also get a bit of xp for hits on a tank you spotted.
Hide: If you are in a Tank Destroyer or SPG you will need to go into a bush or tree to stay hidden. You can still be found while in a bush but the range is much shorter than when out in the open.
Track em: Tracking is when you break the track on an enemy tank thus immobilizing them. Hitting the tracks at the front or back has the highest chance of tracking. A tracked target is often times the best target.
Peek a boo: Use cover to your advantage and pop in and out to avoid getting hit while you fire back. Useful for tanks with low gun depression
