i mean to be fair we don't know these people and we don't understand the context nor background of their relationships so it's not really fair to make specific assumptions

Well for starters they are both insanely close to me. They are the few people where I have no secrets hidden from them at all. Except for the one. Girl #2 always sits with me on the bus. Girl #1 and I head to the library together during study hall everyday. That is normal in and of itself but Girl #1 revealed some secrets about what underwear she wears and even showed me the design of her waistband.

The best thing to do in this situation is realize that neither of them are hitting on you. They are both giving you polite reasons as to why they would not date you.

But I never said I was interested in the first place so why go out of their way to tell me they aren't interested either?

This might seem like a good thing but no it is not. These girls are 2 of my best friends, one of them I have even had a crush on since I met. The problem arises in the fact that the girl I have a crush on is hitting on me but she has a boyfriend already. She legitimately said she would date me if she didn't have a boyfriend just randomly out of the blue. The second girl is really ugly but I don't want to seem like a jerk. She talks to me and is sure to put extra emphasis on the fact that she recently broke up with her ex. How do I go about this in a nice way?
