making all female/male characters in a show or game look idealized or beautified creates an unrealistic portrayal of humans in general. beauty is subjective and being 'beautiful' isn't a prerequisite for their importance to the plot. unless their supposed beauty or ugliness drives the plot in some way (ie. character is a love worker, or vat-grown superhuman, or circus freak) then there's no reason to visually portray them in another way

after 2 years, the russo-ukraine war is culminating in a military coup on russian soil. if you thought the war was history in the making, check out this stuff. wagner, an organization formerly part of the russian army, has shot down at least 1 russian helicopter and evaded roadblocks put in place by russia's national guard.

People are gonna be disappointed when they realize I'm just going to ban any offensive content just like any other serious gamedev in 2023.

fascism by itself isn't particularly offensive. its history was permanently tarnished by genocide and oppression but in a vacuum its just another political ideology. as a developer you're going to have to choose between protecting the interests of your game and company vs the freedom of speech and interests of your playerbase. the former is obviously the safest choice in today's economy.
