does it take talent to press C# on a piano? no.
does it take talent to be musically inclined enough that you can arrange those notes into a song? yeah, it does.
I heard g is super hard to play
Does it actually take talent to play a first position E minor chord on guitar?
bruh do y'all live in a universe where songs are composed of one chord

obviously playing notes with a tempo is much more difficult than playing one note and then playing another one to your own leisure aka chiptune and DAW

i think this here is a perfect example of a defining statement of why rap is officially by definition not music

as hard as the ghetto tries im afraid rap simply isnt entertaining. by this point in time i think its become clear nothing can be done about that.. :panda:
rap isn't even real music, it's loving poety. go expand your facedom charles

by itself probably not but if you're playing multiple chords after at 130 BPM and you need to switch between them, it probably takes talent

i don't see how i can be wrong on this issue. does it actually take talent to move your mouse over the C# on the piano roll and press the left mouse button?

if it was like real time where you'd have to click on notes to keep up with the tempo, that'd be some talent. but when you make digital music, you just have all the time in the world to put notes down and stuff. the people who play for a band or play music on a real instrument can't just play each individual note and string it together, they have to keep with the tempo, manage their mouth position and hand position constantly

boy im boutta use you as an instrument if you don't close that pretty little mouth you got there
speaking of mouth, how's your sister doing

Then what's your point? Chiptune is indistinguishable from a high-level virtual instruments like 8Dio or Albion on its basic principles. It's all MIDI. If you supposedly own 50GB of VST's, (which isn't even that much in the grand scheme of decent virtual instruments, considering instrument libraries can be well over 100GB for a single VST) then bashing chiptune is a horrendous hypocrisy.
Not really. Even with all these VSTs its still not real music. Unless you have like a piano hooked up to the DAW and you're playing chords n stuff, its just fake stuff. clicking on a piano roll editor and moving notes around is composing, not playing

i dont forgetin know and stuff but like playing real instruments is talent. knowing basic music theory and how to put notes down and make melodies is just simple stuff, doesn't even take practice

so like anyone who listens to synthetically created music isnt listening to music?? what are they listening to then?
lies

That's a load of bullstuff. Sure the "instrument" is more accessible, but it still requires musical knowledge and/or talent to make coherent music. MIDI is such a ubiquitous tool that not calling it an instrument is just being blissfully ignorant. Hell, a lot of people use a keyboard trigger to make their material.
a glass bottle is more accessible than chiptune bullstuff, and i can break it on the table right now and the sound it will make will be better than chiptune too. i just invented an instrument

most brass instruments have buttons
i mean that like, when you press those you have to coordinate your finger movements and you have to position your mouth right and breath

with chiptune you just click somewhere on the screen and its done. its not real music even

i play guitar and bass

I made an entire thread dedicated to beepbox.
chiptune isn't an instrument, it's just pressing buttons and stuff
