thermal paste shouldn't get dusty though, your heatsink does.

I should've been more specific, my bad. I mainly clean my heatsink regularly because I get a lot of dust (especially because of pets) in there so its a necessity for me.

Very true. I usually like to make my builds larger than needed just for possible upgrades and as you said for water cooling.

I still get nervous with WC builds because I've heard so many horror stories about it.

oct-4.0 is nice and all, but an intel quad-3.5 is better lol

I'm interested in why you feel that it's unnecessary.

and I reconsidered that and I took advice. Primarily gonna go with an I5. 4690k

Also you could probably don't need to buy thermal grease; every cooler I've ever bought has included some

I do usual re applying because I'm OCD about dust in my PC.

AMD is good for low budget build. With an $1800 budget, go with an Intel CPU
Go with i5 4690k

Those case fans are the wrong size; according to newegg it needs 200mm front fans and 140mm rear fans. Additionally, I don't think the case even has room for 4 more. It looks like there's only room for one more on the side

Before spending extra money on a 144hz monitor, know that depending on what games your playing, you might not even be able to push much more than 60 fps on max

True, so I took your advice and went with an Intel CPU. I usually stick to AMD for CPU's since I generally stick to low end builds.

The fans were the wrong size, since I just through them on without looking at the specs. So I just took them out.

And that surprises me since I thought the 980 would be more than capable with a 144hz with the 4gb of vram.

Corsair K70 is really cool, actually. I own one myself. If you do plan on buying one, I recommend you buy the Corsair M65 Sabre RGB (or something along those lines) to go along with it.

I feel like that would be TOO much RGB 4 me.

I'm excited for a new build since my current one just isnt up to par with new game since its running a 4 year old gpu and other things are wrong with the system so I feel its time to start anew.

Oh boy another zombie show. That's pretty awesome. I live in NY currently and every now and again a move/tv show can be seen being filmed. I think Batman was being filmed a few years ago in the Bronx or Manhattan.
