I dunno how marks work in Australia but there's only so high you can get right? So if you need to only invest enough time to get the minimum for the best mark. Don't worry about going above and beyond because extra won't matter in the long run. Except for the internship, definitely go above and beyond for that!

you have classes that are three and four hours long? is that normal?

It is when they only meet once or twice per week

I looked it up not too long ago, you have to beat all five master rank contests, and then beat Lisia.  So now I have a new question.  Anyone want a jolly Riolu?

If you didn't already give it away the whole contest thing is pretty easy! All you have to do is set one pokemon up with maximum contest stats, 3 types of contest moves, and maybe a mega stone. All the berries you need can grow overnight and each contest category takes about an hour total if I remember right.
