Off Topic / So my mom's aunt killed herself last night.
« on: October 18, 2011, 01:36:11 PM »
I was in the middle of doing schoolwork (I'm homeschooled) and my mother gasped and held her phone. She was looking at her email and apparently one of her siblings had sent her an email telling her that her aunt had just committed Self Delete. My mom acted flustered and she said that she wasn't horribly upset but that she was sad, because her aunt (and therefore my great aunt) and my mom never communicated. Now she's frustrated that her mom and siblings won't pick up the phone. I'm kinda disturbed because this is the second Self Delete/accidental death that I've had to deal with. Now my mom's freaking out because the aunt had threatened my mom's mom before, as the aunt was very mentally unstable, and my grandmother is not picking up the phone. She's called the Aberdeen police, my mom is really scared right now.

tl;dr forget you. Read it.

Call me what you want, I don't care. This is traumatizing and I need to tell SOMEONE about it.

Games / Toribash - Even more badass than Black Shades

http://www.toribash.com/
"My blood!" ~The Scout
About the game
Toribash is a physics-fighting-sandbox game, where you design your own moves.
It's kind of like the game Ninja, a real-life karate game where you stand across from your opponent, get in a karate pose, and try to to hit both of their hands.

Controls
Click - Adjust state of joints
W, A, S, D - Adjust camera angle
C - Hold/relax all joints (holds when all joints are relaxed/in a different state, relaxes when all joints are held)
V - Hold/release both hands
Space - End your turn
Click on hands - Grab/release

Price
Absolutely free.

Moves
I'm going to list a couple of moves here, they'll rip your enemy to shreds, quite literally.

Body Breaker
Hold all joints, extend both ankles
End turn
Contract both pecs, grab with both hands
End turn
Contract both hips
End turn (x2)
Contract both knees, lower both shoulders
End turn (x2)
Extend both knees
End turn

"Oh, they're gonna have to glue YOU back together. IN HELL!" ~The Demoman

Forearm kickoff
Hold all
Lower both shoulders, extend right hip, contract left hip, extend both ankles
End turn (x4)

"Hey, where'd his arm go?"

Decapitation
Hold all
Contract both pecs, raise both shoulders
End turn (x2)
Lower both shoulders, contract both hips
End turn

"Say goodbye to your head, wanker!" ~The Sniper

Leg Split
Hold all
Extend both ankles, extend both glutes, extend both hips, raise both shoulders, contract abs
End turn (x10)
Contract both knees
End turn (x2)

"I'll show you how to break someone's spine!" ~The Soldier

Spinning Head Removal
Mod: Classic
Frames per turn: 10
Engage Distance: 180
Dismemberment Threshold: 50
Hold all
Raise shoulders
Contract left pec
Extend right pec
Right rotating chest
Extend left glute
Extend left hip
Contract left knee
Extend ankles
End turn
Contract left hip
End turn (x2)
Contract right hip
Contract right knee
End turn (x3)
Extend right hip
End turn (x2)
Extend right knee
Contract right glute
End turn

Backflip Decap #1
Hold all
Right Rotate Chest
Right Bend Lumbar
Extend Right Pecs
Raise Right Shoulder
Contract Left Pecs
Raise Left Shoulder
Extend Left Glute
Contract Right Hip
Extend Left Hip
Contract Right Knee
Contract Left Knee
Extend Right Ankle
Extend Left Ankle
End Turn (x3)
Contract Left Hip
End Turn
Extend Left Knee

Uke arm ripoff
UKE-
Lower both shoulders
YOU-
Hold all
Contract both pecs
Grab with both hands
End turn (x2)
Extend both pecs
Release both hands

Out of those, I think the Spinning Head Removal looks the best.

Mods
TwinSwords - A semi-popular mod that gives the users long, insta-gib arms, and insta-gib feet. A personal favorite of mine.
Judo - A slightly more popular mod than TwinSwords, this mod has a dismember threshold of 100, and a distance of 80. At 70 frames per turn, judo is most likely the fastest-paced mod of any of the defaults (wushu, aikido, twinswords, and obviously judo)
Aikido - The most popular mod, Aikido is all about slamming your opponent to the ground. Be careful though, your limbs could break and become useless!
Wushu - With an engage distance of 250, and a frame rate of 50 frames per turn, this is most likely the most difficult mod, as you are disqualified the instant a part other than your hands or feet touches the ground.
Picture time!

Post your combos here.
I'll test them and add them to the OP if they're good enough.

Games / X-Plane Megathread

About X-Plane
X-Plane is a flight simulator created in 1993 as a Microsoft Flight Simulator equivalent for the Macintosh OS, currently in v9.70. It's also fun as hell.
History
It was originally created to simulate the Piper Archer (V1), and the V2 update (1996) added support for the then most-current Windows OS, Windows 95 (Does anybody even use this anymore?). V3 (1997) added World-Maker and Weather-Briefer, and removed the 256-color mode requirement for Windows. V4 (1998) added textured graphics and hardware acceleration using the cross-platform OpenGL graphics library, World-Maker was updated so that users could make photorealistic terrain covers, and create buildings such as skyscrapers and airports. V5 (1999) added Airbus aircraft to the V5 disc, and the B747 was added. V6 (2001) replaced the bitmap textures for aircraft with paints, added support for Mac OSX, Mac OS9, Windows 2000, and Windows XP, and removed support for Mac OS 8.6 and under. V7 (2003) changed the aircraft texture format to .png (png forget yeah), changed the game engine, and gave the simulator an icon. V8 (2004) was the first DVD version, gave the sim the ability to read .dsf for scenery files, 8.2 added support for animated .obj files, 8.4 added support for Intel Macs, and the first Linux version was released. X-Plane V9 (2007-present) added memory management, shader support, and an auto-updater. V10 (December 2011) is expected to have global scenery generated from Open Street Map data allowing accurate placement of roads, rivers and auto-placement of buildings, a global weather engine with advanced cloud rendering, global illumination and shadowing, better use of multi-core processors for AI aircraft, improved aircraft and scenery, and improved ATC designed to work not only with you but with AI aircraft as well. V10 has been slated for a couple of release dates, but those were missed.

Off Topic / So my mouth hurts like hell.
« on: September 28, 2011, 01:51:14 PM »
I just got my braces readjusted, and every single damn time it ends up with my mouth hurting like hell for two weeks minimum. I also have to wear rubber bands, yes, these things:

and they're so damn annoying. Half of the time they end up snapping, which hurts, and I can't eat a damn thing.
Wat do.

« on: September 02, 2011, 07:14:30 PM »
A simple question. Would you rather live in the US or Russia?

Personally I'd go with Russia. Don't get me wrong, I'm a proud American. I'm glad to be free. I'm glad to own guns. I'm glad to be able to spend my money the way I choose. Russia seems so appealing because they are not having as bad of a debt problem as we are.

Okay, so I turn 14 in just a few days. I need to make $500 so I can buy a $950 computer (my dad's paying for the other half). Any ideas?

NO "become a prostitute" IDEAS. Those are stuff.

« on: August 25, 2011, 06:54:46 PM »
Okay. I'm not even going to start on how annoying this is. I can't join ANY servers (it gives me an error message, I cannot do anything on blockland except build in my own server (which gets boring) and wonder why I can't play anything.

So I plan on building a computer with a $700 budget. I plan on installing Windows 7 and any 2TB hard drive. Give me some suggestions, as I want to build a gaming computer that can run most games on the best setting.

Them: Hi
Me: who are you
Them: 22/F here. You?
me: ASDF
*le close chat window*
She sends another message
Her: Have we chatted before?
Me: no
Her: Oh okay. I am sooo bored.
Me: stop talking to me
Her: Ooh I have an idea, have you ever seen a lady strip on camera?
*le completely shut down application*

Me (not on chat):aaaah...

Now, I know that half of you are sick heartless bastards who do not give a forget, but here goes.

First off, my brother named him Silly before we even bought him, due to his behavior. We got this bird back in 2007 at Petsmart. They said that, given proper treatment, they can live up to 25 years. They didn't know the bird's age, which I did ASDF at. First we got him a small cage (and food), and then a friend (and more food), named Lily, and then a larger cage (and more loving food). My brother became very attached to the birds and was devastated when Lily died (after choking on a seed shell).  So we got my brother (and the bird) a new companion, named Speckles. Speckles is alive and well right now, but Silly has a swollen liver, is having trouble breathing, and only has a 20% chance of living, even with medication. My brother is devastated.

Edit: He is hopping around, not flying yet, and eating and drinking his water. My brother and I are almost overjoyed.
