Off Topic / *IMPORTANT* BSOD's (Possibly Caused by Windows Update?)
« on: December 14, 2011, 06:00:53 PM »
Hi, since last night I've been getting bluescreens whenever I work on music with FL (FL Studio) and it hasn't been doing this prior to the windows update last night. Could this be causing it? Was the update faulty? I need help ):

edit: hardstyle track woo
BEST TRACK SO FAR
Trancey thingy

Yes lol in just a second (:
ghetto as forget but whatever:

1: Playlist - Click to open
2: Step Sequencer - Click this to open the step sequencer
3: Piano Roll - click to open piano roll of the selected Channel
4: Browser - Click to show or hide the browser, for presets samples etc
5: Mixer - Click to open the mixer
6: Help - click for help from FL lolol
7: File - to open file menu
8: Edit - for copy/paste/etc functions
9: Channels - to open channels
10: View - to open different windows (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are shortcuts)
11: Options - not important but you should check it out
12: Tools - do not bother with this.
13: Help - for help, like '6'
14 + 15: PAT and SONG, Pattern means you use (16) Play to play the pattern, if selected. SONG means you use (16) Play to play the SONG aka what's in the Playlist (1).
16: Play - to play the Playlist or Pattern that you currently have selected with (20) the pattern selector.
17: Stop - durrr hurrrrrrr stops what's playing (you can use Spacebar for play and stop)
18: Record - don't bother using this unless you plan to record external sources, or MIDI. will explain later if needed.
19: BPM - IMPORTANT!!!! beats per minute, Trance/Dubstep/House are usually 130-140.
20; Pattern Selector - selects patterns, you can have as many as you want.
21: Tracks - can be turned on and off, are used for placing Patterns in in the Playlist (1).
22: Pattern - can be placed in the playlist (1) and can be accessed with (2) the Step Sequencer and by double clicking. can be moved around like a note in the Piano Roll (3)
23: Browser - where you can find your samples and presets.
24: Snap - to synchronize your patterns and notes to a certain 'pattern (not to be confused with a Pattern in the Playlist)' so as to help create rhythm. Usually, I recommend Line. 1/2 step, 1/4 step are both also useful, but Line is the most useful. If you're trying to make a hardstyle melody or something like that, feel free to use 1/3.

Parts of each of the main tools:

1: Step Sequencer:
1 Channel: Used for samples (percussion, FX) and synths (Sytrus, Massive, Nexus, etc)
right click to go to Piano Roll, and other functions.
2 Channel (synth)
3 Channel mute/solo: click and right click to mute/solo a channel, green means it's unmuted.
4 Pan: left/right balance, center for centered panning
5 Volume: controls Channel Volume, can be accessed by clicking the Channel and editing parameters
6 Channel Select: click to select one or more channels for copy/pasting what is to the right of the button (notes in the piano roll, steps)
7 loop: Loops the steps in the channel (usually you should have this on to be safe)
8 'sequence' length: should be 4, 8, 16 etc for a 4/4 time signature.
2: Mixer
1 Master Track: the track that all other Mixer Tracks go into. don't forget around with this**
2 Track: where a channel goes when you (select channel>right click track>link selected channels to this track) link it to that track. this way you can add FX, etc
3 FX Tracks: you get 8 per track, where you can load FX like reverb delay and equalizing
4 Equalizer: (I recommend Fruity Parametric EQ in the FX tracks instead) basic built in equalizer
3: Piano Roll
1 Note: can be extended or shortened, placed with Left Click removed with Right Click.
2 Ghost Note: (activated with 3 (menu) Helpers>Ghost Channels) useful when writing melodies and chords. I recommend turning this on. displays notes from other channels in the pattern you're working on
3 Menu: click here to access basic functions like copy paste etc
4 Velocity: certain synths don't work with this function, but it represents teh 'velocity' or 'how loud the note is.' can be edited from note to note.

This thread's just for this one song (maybe) because it's a lot different than the stuff I post on my group's YouTube. I posted this specific track on NewGrounds because I felt it fit in with my other really old stuff. Check it out I guess, lol.
100% original, so don't bitch about anything in that regard.

So hey guys I don't know if there's going to be new stuff for a while.. Long story short, my mom is in the hospital again and I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay here, where my producing computer is. So that might mean no new stuff for a while. I mean if that really happens I'll still try to come up with some good stuff or at least write the music and not necessarily produce it, and then just wait until I'm back, and do it all at once. But I'm not sure.
It's gonna be a long week.... Thanks for any support. And all support that you've previously showed. It means a lot to me. And my partners. <3
Hardstyle song is heeeere.

There's an update out and I want to see if I can download all of it and put it on my desktop (my receiver broke on it)
how should I do this? I have all of the necessary drives/space for the files, I just want to know if it would even work and how I should go about moving the files from one PC to the next.

Off Topic / Bike Help: Converting 6-Speed 20" MTB to Single-Speed
« on: July 14, 2011, 11:23:13 PM »
Okay. So my friend Fred found a mountain bike while junking. The cool thing about it is it's BMX size; it has 20" tires. The cool thing is it has full suspension; a monoshock and front shocks, meaning I can get epic air straight off the ground. I was looking at some at Wal-Mart and Target (since they're cheap and I already own 4 bikes) and I saw a 20" MTB thinking 'wow that's a really cool idea.'
Anyways. The problem is, the bike had no tires. Usually what happens is he finds bikes and stuff but usually they have no tires since most people are dumbasses and figure that when they bend their cheap-ass rims, they decide the bike is now useless and throw them out for smart people like Fred and I to take and fix up and use. c:

So. The problem:
How the hell do I convert a 6-speed mountain bike to a single-speed?
The sprocket on the crankset is 36 teeth. Fred suggested just shortening the chain and sticking this 18t rear wheel (I have a matching front one, looks lovey as forget lol) on the bike. I'm just concerned that possibly it'll be hard to pedal since that's an uncommon gear ratio. I have other sprockets from the bike the tires came off of (thing's a piece of stuff don't even think about telling me to fix that one up lmao) so if it really comes down to it I'll just use that one, maybe even buy a new one, but what I really want is the easiest, most efficient way to get this bike working.
All I want are options and suggestions. c:

I know this is a really bad place to ask this kind of stuff, but it's the best place I could think of since I'm not signed up to any bike forums and I'd feel like a complete noob. If there's anything you want, like pics n' stuff, I'll totally get some. lol.
OH ALSO
The sprocket on the bike's cranks only has one gear, so that's why I'm asking if it might be a good idea just to shorten the chain and slap my 18t back rim/wheel on it. lol.

Off Topic / Seizures (Do You Guys know Anything about Seizures?)
« on: July 12, 2011, 01:01:19 PM »
So. I'm just curious. (For reasons I will give if you guys actually do) If anybody here knows a lot about the different types of seizures and what cause them (medication, lack thereof, etc)
I'd really appreciate it if, if you do, you simply let me know hat you did and then hopefully helped me out with my situation... If I can get the right information it could help my life out so tremendously that I'd be grateful forever. Just trust me.

Off Topic / Found a MTB. Huffy 'Howler,' Opinions Plox?
« on: June 28, 2011, 12:16:41 AM »

^Not my picture.
I found it nearby my house after it had been pulled out of the bushes a while ago, missing a pedal and the back brake pads + cable.
I did 'find' the bike although I found out after taking it to my house that as my girlfriend waited by where we found it and watched my Dyno GT VFR with her bike too, some creeper creep came up to her and told her the cops were filing stuff on it earlier or something and they dug it out of the bushes. I really don't give a stuff and they were recalled a while ago for having faulty cranks but I don't care since I have extra parts N' stuff.
I need help though. Lol.
The rear wheel (I'm assuming this is due to the hub?) is wobbly. How can I fix this? The nuts on the outside (between the rear 'forks?' (excuse my stuff knowledge on terms)) are firmly in place but the wheel still wobbles around (not much, but it's a pain in the ass.) The rim is also a little bit warped but I don't really care since it doesn't have back brakes anyways--and if I really cared, I'd just get a new back rim. It's not that bad.
I haven't ridden it yet as it only has one pedal. I'm thinking of taking it to my local bike shop tomorrow, but I don't know if they'll report it (cops N' stuff, as stated earlier) or how much it will cost. Assistance plx?
Also it sold (supposedly) for around $80-$100 at the time of production but since it got recalled I can't find stuff about it online. Any help would be appreciated lol. Also suggestions on what I should do with it, too. o:

ALSO: Tips on how to sand it down + paint it etc would be great. Also what kinds of paint to get, where to get them, etc. c:

Off Topic / forgeted up my Hair. Help Please. D:
« on: June 16, 2011, 07:11:40 AM »
I know this is probably the last place I should be asking a question like this but I have no other options lululul.
So recently I dyed my hair. I dyed the back black and beached the tips of my bangs. I used all the conditioners and stuff I was supposed to use, I even used extra just to make sure I was safe. A couple days went by, it all looked okay. Now about a week later I'm starting to get damaged strands of frizzy hair and I don't know what to do since I've been treating it the way I always do, and this has never happened before. :c
It feels dry and dead all the time and I don't know what to do D: I've tried stuffloads of conditioners and still, no results. Any suggestions? ;/

Will post pics if necessary. :v

Off Topic / Java Will Not Work on my Computer.
« on: March 12, 2011, 01:41:48 AM »
Well, as you can probably assume from my thread title, Java does not work on my computer.
And now you're probably asking 'well jeez why didn't you already get it fixed,' well that's because I have just not really needed it until now when it's gotten to the point where it severely agitates the loving hell out of me when I try to play a Java-based game like Minecraft or Runescape.
I can play Minecraft, but only the standalone executable file, (I can't say for certain why but obviously it has to do with the fact that it's not being run through a browser.)
I just recently tried running the server hosting program for Minecraft, and found out that that too, does not run, because it requires Javascript.
If I try playing Minecraft or Runescape in my browser, it crashes. The program for hosting servers constantly gives me this error (see attached image)
and I've tried everything that I've read (update Java/uninstall+reinstall, etc) and it just doesn't work. It annoys the stuff out of me.
My specs:
OS: Win7 Home Premium 64bit
Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 965 @3.4GHz
RAM: (dunno why it matters but whatever better safe than sorry) 12288MB (yes, 12GB)
I doubt what harddrive I have really makes a difference, so if anyone could help me refrain from tearing my loving eyeballs out I'd greatly appreciate it. Kthx

tl;dr java doesn't run; normal computer; updatedreinstalledetc loving help me please

Edit: oh yeah herp derp and my GPU is ATI Radeon 5700 w/approx. 4GB memory

Creativity / Trance Song (Techno for all of you uneducated forgets)
« on: November 19, 2010, 07:54:13 AM »
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H2n61gBUWo
title+picture in video are there only for attention reasons (needs moar fans, stuff catches your eye and trance is normally incorrectly called 'techno')
you can go ahead and tell me about how 'the title doesn't fit the song' or 'the video is stupid-looking' but just be warned that I won't give two stuffs.
to be honest I don't even know why, exactly, I'm posting this here. I guess because I thought an update would be nice, idk
