I want to get into a non-junior software engineering role, release one of my personal projects, and start making contributions on at least one open source solution on GitHub.

I started playing Blockland on like v8 with my friend, his little brother, and my little brother. I was the only one to really rack up the 1000+ hours as LruteL, Aoki, and then log. I always wanted to meet some people, but I didn't consider it too much living in bumforget Ohio.

I lost contact with most Blocklanders after I started to get harassed in real life around like 2015. I was investigateed, swatted, signed up for free trials on a handful of weird products, put on every spam mail list--my dad would get calls at work telling him his son (me) was fat, and that I should kill myself. I would get calls telling me I'm fat and should kill myself.

I started intermittently posting and getting back online in-game after a bad breakup a few years ago, and I do like how the community seems like it's matured. It's crazy seeing some of the pet projects I missed too--Blockland Rebuilt, static shape maps, and someone made like an in-game web browser? Sometimes it makes me want to pick up Torque again, but it's hard to come home from work and sit down to continue coding.

I live in greater Boston now; though, which I'm sure is a lot more central. Maybe I'll get around to making that stuff happen. A Blockland LAN party would go hard.

can't remember the last time there was hype over a non-franchised game, so it kind of makes sense

At work I'll regularly type an 'f' into the search bar and get surprised this forum does not come up on suggested. I was never really a huge poster. Most of the posts across my accounts I feel are just me getting pulled into drama.

thanks for the thread

I've been meaning to reply here for a bit, but I'm lazy. I graduated from college with a degree in computer science and philosophy, and I've been a software engineer for two years now mainly engineering a suite of software to manage fleets of security and inspection robots. I have a couple of apps on the app store as well from other smaller projects. I currently hold public office in a volunteer role on a committee in a small town; it is an intermittent role, so it doesn't take up too much of my time. I live alone, which has been nice. I have a girlfriend; we've been seeing each other for five months or so. She is down to earth, and we both play video games. I got her to join a CityRPG with me earlier this year  :cookieMonster:

It hasn't had a lot of players except for launch day; I'm a big fan though--great work from the whole team. I've been thinking I might setup a retro dogfight server using Scattered Space's/Wizzards old canyon dogfight map with the aircraft carriers because that was really fun, but I haven't had the time as of late.

literally what in the hell are you talking about. none of this is true whatsoever. kiwifarms isn't a real forum it's a cesspool of people who all hate each other even more than we did and literally no normal internet forum has any of their problems
It's a forum, and it's dying. I didn't mean to generalize or make it seem like it would be missed; that's my bad.

forums aren't dying... they're just getting denied service on their .net domain, so they have to switch to their .ru domain, but then their agent resigns because that means they're associated with Russia, so they have to go to a .onion domain. You'd think that's it for clearnet, but then out of the blue they're back on a .pl domain? a .st domain?
