Help / Re: How do i make an add-on
« on: January 31, 2009, 05:27:40 AM »
I think my question about modeling and scripting is way better than this "clod's".  =)

But to stay on topic.

I'll jump on the bandwagon.

Notepad and Milkshape 3D/Blender.

Are my leet 3d designing skills with AutoCAD at all useful for making models for Blockland?   I've also dabbled with true Basic back in the day...and C++ for programming.

Know where I can get some info about the modeling and coding programs?

I heard Blender is the free one...and it's more difficult to learn than Milkshape, but the complexity is more of a pro than a con for modeling.....or something.   ??

And the only word I even read about scripting was "Torque".

That's all I got.

Help / No collision on bricks for vehicles? Does this exist?
« on: January 31, 2009, 03:13:19 AM »
I tried to make a shallow bit of water specifically for vehicles to drive through....turned off collision...made it undulo....I ran around through it just fine....got all excited...then jumped in a car and drive right over it.   ?  Why don't the vehicles pass through bricks when collision is turned off?

Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this something I need to request on the forum?

Suggestions & Requests / Re: i need spaceguys bot mod
« on: January 31, 2009, 03:08:37 AM »
I'm currently re-writing Team Deathmatch for v10 (v11 if it comes out soon :cookieMonster:), I might re-attempt Bots if I get this done.

Progress on TDM?  Is it finished?  Updates?

I DL'd an add-on for teams on my minigame gui....looks neat.  But haven't hosted/played a TDM yet....just wondering how this is going.

AND....anxiously waiting for new bot mod.   mmmm bots.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Snowboard

Cool idea....would try it out if executed well.

Just one thing....why is it that about 50% of the people that post on this forum have the grammar and typing abilities of a 4 year old?

I'm far from perfect....but give me a break....some of this crap ^ is inexcusable.

Help / Re: Key help
« on: January 31, 2009, 02:53:39 AM »
srsly.   theres no instructions or tutorial anywhere about this key.....noone has it?  noone uses the key?

DO I?

replace the first event that reads  " on activate"   to  " on key hit"   ....  then  "key check"  to limit access to door...

then next two lines read   "on key failure"  and "on key success"  for the input, with the appropriate output event for each.

can I just put these at the end of the events?  theres already 11 events per door at least....it would be a pain in the arse to re write all the events.

Shovel snow....cut grass....help elderly neighbors buy groceries.   Get off your lazy arse and get some money, and quit crying you don't have any.

Nope.  Nice try though.

Looks more like a wand or something....is that a star on the end of it?

Add-Ons / Re: Sled
« on: January 30, 2009, 10:31:53 PM »
This  looks dumb.....flat out handicapped.  I mean...congrats on the modeling and scripting...I know that's not easy....and the idea is cool.  I'd LOVE a sled...and the skis can be difficult to control.   But that thing is  HUGE....and way too many mounting points, as has been said previously.

When I read the topic...I pictured an average sled...maybe seat 2 or 3 people...only about as long as the go-kart.

What you've created shouldn't be called a sled....it should be called a snowbus.

Not DL'ing.

If your computer is "ancient" as you said......a new video card might not even fit on your motherboard....seeing as hardware is constantly being improved and changing.

I tried to upgrade a 4 year old computer with new RAM....didn't fit.     Bought a new video card....didn't fit either.....

So I bought a new motherboard that would be compatible with my new RAM and Video card.   The motherboard didn't fit inside the case.

I ended up replacing everything, and building a brand new computer from scratch.   I spent around 500 dollars...and it runs Blockland brilliantly with all the graphics maxed.

So...What I am trying to say is....you may have to buy a whole new computer.   Bug your dad about the old one......search for a used on craigslist....look in the local newspaper.....I'm sure you can find a decent computer for next to nothing that is better than yours.

Help / Re: Key help

I DL'd the key from RTB, and I can not figure out how to lock doors to prevent people from opening them.   I tinkered with the events for a while....still scratching my head.

Help with using Key tool on JVS doors!   PLZ?

First Post.....  Just providing some input.

Tried the demo a few days ago...loved it and bought it right away.

Already DL'd tons of Add-Ons successfully.   Read Badspot's tutorial on Port forwarding and accomplished that tall feat as well.      I have to say the most difficult thing to do must be creating an epic build.

Port forwarding is the most annoying thing I've ever had to do....and I hate doing it...but as long as you can follow simple instruction it can be done fairly easily without major complications.

Building epic cities and castles however.....that's on an entirely new level of difficulty.

There's props I'd like to give...and people I could thank for making this absolute lol ride possible....but that would be off topic.
