guess it doesn't hurt to try an sfc /scannow

couldn't, might as well give it a shot

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/programs-close-faulting-module-ntdlldll/54aaaec5-2b53-4e9f-b9a7-b7889a1cd4b6?auth=1

this is somethin i found which might have some Hot Tips for u

took a quick readthrough of it, unfortunately none of the tips seemed to apply to me (ex. uninstalling Microsoft OneDrive for Business -- don't have that), and it seemed like people weren't able to register/deregister ntdll so that probably went to stuff

:(

And? Programs get updated when a new OS gets released. Maybe you've both been in blockland too long and forgot updates exist

let me be clear:

programs that CLEARLY state they work on windows 7 AFTER UPDATES are behaving in such a manner

and AFTER EXAMINING THE EVENT LOGS it is a PROBLEM WITH A FILE ON MY COMPUTER

god are you this blind or are you here to insult me?

3319
I understand the problem perfectly. OP is using an old form of windows and trying to use programs made for windows 10 and getting upset that his computer breaks with windows 10

was reading not your first priority

3320
just to catchup everyone up:
running: windows 7 ultimate
problem: newly installed apps not set to windows 7 compatibility crash immediately

after checking the event logs, ntdll.dll appears to be the faulting module for any apps not set to it, with the exact same timestamp

is this a sign/what should I do?

3321
if it were made for the newest version of windows, then compatibility mode for probably windows 7 wouldn't work (keeping on with the same train of logic)

that being said the only answers i could find from a brief google search myself were "bite the bullet and deal with it" or "upgrade to windows 10/fresh install" which is always nice.

have you dug through event logs to see if there are any leads for the crashing

they weren't made for windows 10, they worked on windows 7 before
i'll check the event logs now though

what exactly did it break
- prevented me from installing any drivers
- several apps i used refused to work
- memory usage went way up
- not broken, but major privacy issues

reasons i will never go back

3322
you asked how to fix it and he told you. Time and time again you prove your stupidity cop.

except i don't want to loving update to it
i used it, it broke my stuff, i went back

3324
Seriously. Almost every application I have has to be forcefully set to this because anything new crashes without it enabled.

What the hell do I do to fix this?
