Nevermind, it sucked.

It really doesn't matter if it sucks or not.

Yeah, that's what we're looking for.

(That building is a little off scale, but who needs the scale anyways? It doesn't matter how big a mile is.)

Picture?

I'll put one up in a minute, let me upload it. (This is just the base landscape with the sun and a measurement set up, nothing spectacular.)

If you think that we need to make the .blend bigger (as in, that's too small to be one mile, we need a bigger distance to be a mile), then go right ahead and modify that, we're just getting the optimistic environment for building a city at the moment.

I posted a link to it.

Also, if you don't have blender, you can download it over here.

Hey! I'm sure that a couple of you have heard of the freeware modeling program, "Blender", and I'm sure that some models with addons are made with it too. So, I wanted to start a community project called "Blender City", where we have an open .blend file and everybody is free to contribute their own addition to the city! I personally recommend you upload to mediafire or box, although any website will do. Also, if you feel like it, you're allowed to add lights/materials to objects, as well as applying your own textures.

The only rule is not to delete something without asking on the topic first, as it may be part of a larger part.

Also, if you don't have blender, you can download it over here.

Here's the most recent version of the city!

Use that file to start the city! Also, i'll be adding my own contributions later in the thread.

It is URGENT that you post to say when you're working on something, so we don't end up with two people working at the same time! Not so much now.

Here's a render of the city currently.

listen tha next person to replie after me is stupid
and this thread is closed

Lyrical G, You've already ruined your reputation on the forum, is there really any point in even attempting to defend yourself any more? Everybody hates you, we all think you have a mental problem, and acting like you're tough stuff by saying you get beaten up every day doesn't work.

Just give up, you, and your reputation are both weak, there's no more point in trying.

Off Topic / Re: Numbers are in, I have ADHD: Innatentive

My brother has ADHD. The same you have.
He's annoying as forget, at least you can handle it.

I've got OCD and minor Schizophrenia.

Your brother is probably just taking advantage of his diagnosed ADHD to act up and get away with it. It's fairly common.

step 1 games is the company badspot made i believe, so he gets all the money.

Modification Help / Re: Blender DTS Exporter vista
« on: June 06, 2009, 11:53:54 AM »
I did and it still doesn't work. I get a python script error.

You need to use 2.5.2 I think. I haven't used blender in a while so I'm gonna go download 2.49 without python and see what it says on the console. Although, if you have the wrong version of python you should be able to look on the console (that black box that blender opens up when you open it) to see what version of python you need.

Also, if you don't have a scripts folder where you installed blender then it will be in your "application data" folder. To get there ON XP, you go to C:\Documents and Settings\YourAccount, and Application Data should be a hidden folder in there. Of course, you're using vista so the process of finding application data is likely to be different, but when you do find it, simply go into application data inside of your account folder and go into the blender folder in there and you should be able to find scripts.

Could I get a save of that, or is it private?

Since this really isn't showing off a build, it wouldn't go in gallery and I couldn't find a better place to put it.

I've recently came up with a new idea for "Manual Lighting" where you manually paint blocks to make it look like they're being lit by a light source, which means you can do manual ambient occlusion, manual shadows, and if you're up for it, manual volumetric lighting. Of course, this will take time, and probably lots of it. I've put together a small build to show a very basic version done with the default paint set, although you could make it look a lot better I imagine.

Then you gave me your nickname on steam. I need the account name you registered with in order to add you, and send the guest pass. Then again, you could also give me the email you used with your steam account.
