Suggestions & Requests / Load bricks by console with one command?
« on: March 30, 2016, 03:03:31 PM »
I'm pretty sure I've seen it done. Directload (addon) doesn't seem to have permissions options.

General Discussion / SuperFPS Server.
« on: March 20, 2016, 05:39:46 PM »
Tendon/Dglider got me one of these cool thingamabobs

What is SuperFPS?
SuperFPS is a server with a set of maps with different Slayer gamemodes and evented minigames. The map rotation will expand as new maps are made.

Completed Maps (In rotation. May change, but are playable and enjoyable.)
CTF_Canyon_v7

A canyon with two bases at either side. Has AA turrets (buggy, when shot respawn as tank turrets), ATVs, hovercars, humvees, and planes. Should have enough vehicles to have 10 players on the offensive at the same time. Uses the Old-School Colorful weaponset to select from for primaries, and every player  has the new Hook-Gun, Skis, and a Tranquilizer (Also from Old-School Colorful, but too weak to be a primary weapon.) You may sometimes also have a baseball bat which is really powerful but it's a melee so it's not useful generally except for quickly blowing up Humvees.
TDM_Downwards_v0
It's simple. Shoot other people with energy weapons until they die, avoid falling to your death as the map expands itself downwards! Size ranges from one floor of chaos to eight. Glowing patches indicate what will fall out when the timers in the corners fill up.

Work-In-Progress maps (Not cool enough yet.)
ZD_In_The_City

A zombie defense map. A group of survivors versus a group of bot zombies and a smaller, hat-wearing group of player zombies. Has secrets. Uses few non-vanilla bricks (as per request in the contest it's being entered in.)

TDM_Dance_Dance_Die
In a shared room, both teams have access to a note sequencer. Each note and instrument activates a different trap or feature in the battlefield in a different way. Compose a nice song or go for strategy. Fight over what the song is like or just leave it as it starts. Heck, you could turn off all traps completely... But where's the fun in that?
(edit: In a shared room, not in shared room. English is my first language, I swear!)

Reviews...?
Better than Tezuni's CTF. -You (Note: Not their exact words... Or was that how they worded it? Their name is literally "You". I would assume that their forum name is MyNameIsYou, or perhaps two people have the same joke in their name.)
"'This is a really cool server' -Aries, 2016" -Aries, 2016 when I said I was quoting him.
"Hullo." -Spacy
*Sends full trust request* -Vurden
"You can't paint the map, vurden" -SuperSuit12
"</3" -Vurden

The only rules it has:
-If you have common sense, use it.
-Don't exploit bugs, this includes evading the filter.
-Try not to be rude. Take it to a drama post or something if you hate someone.

An explanation of the below posts: This was originally a simple server listing for the first map, CTF_Canyon, and I felt that I had copied Tezuni by making another CTF, even though I didn't use any of his work. (unless he secretly made any of the add-ons I use.)

There's now a Discord server! Voice chat for everyone! Yaaaaaaay! You don't need to download it, even! It's in the web browser!

Help / Server won't start, even with only system addons.
« on: March 19, 2016, 09:07:25 AM »
It says "creating server" and stops. If I click it, it goes to the "not responding" thing and shows the main menu, and I haven't seen it do anything else.

Suggestions & Requests / Clientside Anti-Gore
« on: March 18, 2016, 05:30:28 PM »
exactly what it says on the tin. Makes gore not show. (with key to toggle, since blood is suuuuuuuper important in Despair Syndrome and similar.)

General Discussion / CTF is awesome.
« on: March 17, 2016, 07:03:06 PM »
Tezuni is hosting a CTF again. I just left because I need to go to sleep.
Apparently this is new? Or was old but hadn't been a thing for some time?
Anyways, it's a thing at the moment. Go play it if you like infiltrating bases and tanks and APCs.

Suggestions & Requests / Keys for Steam users?
« on: March 16, 2016, 06:48:58 PM »
How come I don't get a proper key? Is there some technical problem with giving keys out through Steam? I'd really like to be able to host a proper Dedicated server that's actually a dedicated computer and not just a headless server running on my desktop, and I'd rather not pay for the game twice. (I'd buy it and give my old key to my friend, but that's just not possible and Badspot already said no trading of accounts.)

So... Are Steam users ever going to get proper keys for their accounts? Is this a work in progress thing? Planned? Already decided not to?
Is there any reason Steam purchasers don't get keys?

Hang on, I saw the convert-to-steam thing...
Is that add it to Steam and keep your normal key, or does it stop accepting that key and you can only play the Steam version?
If so, that's messed up.

I'd like a way to have a non-Steam dedicated server, due to the way Steam shuts down games when running them on different machines at the same time and it considering the Dedi server a game.

General Discussion / my blockland was broken ignore this
« on: March 12, 2016, 01:00:11 PM »
I mean seriously, I  have a long hallway and it's supposed to be lit dimly, but brighter than the rest of the map, but only the section super close to me is lit. Is there a way to increase light render distance?

shaders said max but I clicked the button again and they rendered further away

General Discussion / I'm making an RP server. Help?
« on: March 11, 2016, 08:53:47 PM »
Actually I have made one and I've been running it for a while. It's not CityRP or DarkRP, it's just RP. No round structure, just "do whatever with the environment you're given, and shape that, too."
Seriously, it's like giving actors a brief description of a world and a half-built set, and then giving them supplies to finish the set and a blank storyboard.
What should I do with this? It's fun if people actually roleplay, but most people don't want to do that. I want gameplay in there with the roleplay. Ideas? I don't want to restrict what players can do or have set roles or anything. CityRP, from what I can tell, seems to be more like Citizen Simulator or Cops VS Robbers DM.

tl;dr for those who can't read more than three sentences:
ME MAKE RP. HOW MAKE RP FUN WHEN NOT RP WITH PEOPLE?

General Discussion / Preferences? This is my second thread named this.
« on: March 04, 2016, 07:21:32 PM »
I have several mods with RTB preferences and BLG's preferences add-on doesn't work right. I don't want any huge system or anything and oRBs doesn't seem to even include a preferences thing that I can find... What options are there for preferences other than BLG and oRBs?

145
Is this a thing that exists, where you can gather system-made bricks and use them to build, with each brick having a value based on size, but instead of varying materials, you get different colors and can't repaint bricks without spending the amount it would cost to build it?
Someone said there was something like that but they didn't know the name.

General Discussion / Pick up items by clicking them
« on: February 27, 2016, 10:15:29 AM »
Is there an addon that allows this for normal items? I know that's how Despair Syndrome works, but it has items that are way different. I want people to be able to click items instead of smashing their face against something trying to get on top of the holder to touch the item. (I use the vertical plates thing to make fancy holders for stuff, but it's sometimes hard to get out of the holder.)

General Discussion / The Key Button
« on: February 22, 2016, 06:07:31 PM »
I didn't think it was there before. I use the Steam version, but launch it using a .bat due to the fact Steam won't let me launch it twice and I want to host a dedicated server.

What does the Key button next to my name do? (main screen)

General Discussion / Reccomended brick addons?
« on: February 22, 2016, 06:03:15 PM »
Anyone have any good ones?
Ones I have:
-One random
-Vertical plates
-Windows Plus (or whatever it's called)
-Small Ramps
-Poles
-JVS doors (using the Legacy Doors thing instead of regular JVS since it works better)
And please, not ones with one-use bricks (such as trashcans, picture frames, soda machines, etc., I have one of those and I feel like it's... low quality or cheaty or something.) or bricks that are just... bricks. Decorative bricks, like the log bricks, or fences, stuff like that.

General Discussion / Preferences?
« on: February 21, 2016, 02:37:01 PM »
I have Blockland Glass and therefore Support_Preferences, but I can't get any number-inputs to work. I need this to get Autosaver working how I want it, but the number inputs just go blank and won't let me type.

General Discussion / Hosting Steam-only Dedicated appears to work for me.
« on: February 21, 2016, 09:58:50 AM »
To run steam dedicated with one computer:
Create a new .bat file anywhere on your computer. (you can make a txt file and rename it (anythinghere).bat to do this. If it doesn't work, go to file explorer and make sure things show file extensions, otherwise it'll be whatever.bat.txt and not work.)
Write in it EXACTLY WHAT IS WRITTEN ON THE NEXT LINE.
start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Blockland\Blockland.exe" ptlaaxobimwroe -dedicated
Yes, copy the gibberish.

IF YOU ARE NOT ON 64 BIT, USE THIS INSTEAD (BLOCKLAND IS IN A DIFFERENT FOLDER FOR YOU)
start "" "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Blockland\Blockland.exe" ptlaaxobimwroe -dedicated

Run that file. Congratz, you now are running a steam dedicated server. Steam'll say you're running the game, but you can still run it through steam (as a client) and connect.

With TWO computers:

WARNING: This may make Valve angry, I don't really think they'll care but I'm not sure. You will need to log into your account again on the host computer, likely using a steam guard code if you have steam guard. Also it might not work since it relies on a bug.

Right click on the host computer's blockland link and click properties, set launch options. Type -dedicated in the box and hit enter. Close the window and launch blockland.

Then, on the client computer (your main computer) run Blockland normally. This will pop up a message saying it'll close the dedi server. Ignore it, if it closes the server then your computer(s) act(s) differently than mine. You can no longer use steam on the host computer as it wants you to log in again and keeps popping up the relog message until you close blockland on the client and relog. However, the server should still be running. It may not appear in the main list due to the fact nobody's there or something.

This may not actually work. The server only shows up in my LAN listings, but I think that it shows up on the list after you log in as client (it becomes not empty.)
