The astronomer Hallstein Hallmundr gets permission and funds from the government and the national scientific society to build a large observatory in the hills in the eastern part of Valbrandsvåg. Due to the remote location and size of the project, the observatory is expected to be finished in 1~2 years.

Philosopher and mathematician Adolphus Eikinskjeld releases a book criticizing the government's handling of the pagan society. The book gains widespread attention all across Valbrandsvåg. Some are inspired to put a stop to the abuse of pagans as pro-pagan actvists clash with the police force. Facing riots caused by religious rights activists, Grand Duke Theovald II repeals the ban on paganism. However, he also abolishes some pagan rights. Pagans that are jailed and pagans undergoing forced convertion are released, but are segregated from the rest of society.

Agricultural sector is expanded in the more fertile regions of the country.
Speaking of agriculture, Valbrandsvåg would like to join the A.R.O if they are accepting new members.

Grand Duke Theovald II, now old and feeble, fears the conversion of his people to a foreign religion.
Wishing to preserve Valbrand culture, he issues a ban on all pagan religions. Most pagans are caught trying to escape the country and forcibly converted to the norse religion.
Theovald's advisors plead him to not go any further, however he is considering a ban on Islam and Christianity aswell.
Alot of people are uneasy with the Grand Duke at this point and some are considering if they should flee incase a war erupts as a cause of Theovald's foolishness, while others say that he will not live long enough to implement the bans.

Public schools are buildt in major cities and larger villages. Modern trading ships are buildt to replace aging ones. Thorsborg and Vestafjord's commercial industry continues to thrive.
