Creativity / Remurr's Weekly Art Challenge Thread: #5 - VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS

Hey, you. Are you wanting to improve your art skills but are too much of a lazy forget to do it? Don't worry, participate in this thread! Every Wednesday I'll be back with a new challenge or base for you and the other forumers to get creative with. On Tuesday night, I'll compile all of your submissions into an imgur album before posting the next weekly challenge.

This is in no way super serious. Joke submissions are not only welcomed, but they are encouraged. Come back every week to practice something that will hopefully get you thinking outside of the box and flesh out your skills as an artist!

In the future, we may have prizes-- but first, I need to actually get a job so I can afford them. Prizes will be awarded based on creativity rather than skill, so everyone has an equal chance no matter how long you've been drawing for. You can submit more than one image!

Any form of submission is welcome. Just because the topic is something like "a pixel art landscape" doesn't mean it has to be drawn on the computer. Get creative!

This week, draw your favorite video game character doing whatever the hell they do. Use this week's challenge as an excuse to focus on perfecting the details about your character(s) and improving the overall quality of your people art. Have fun! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go lie in bed for four more hours. :(

Nintendo’s Next Mobile Apps: Building on the positive consumer reaction to Miitomo, Nintendo announced that its next two mobile apps would be based on the familiar and beloved Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing franchises. Nintendo plans to release both of these applications this autumn.

As for the former app, while making it more accessible in comparison to the Fire Emblem games for Nintendo’s dedicated gaming systems, Nintendo aims to offer the great value of a role-playing strategy game. Nintendo will design the latter game so that it will be connected with the world of Animal Crossing for dedicated gaming systems. By playing both Animal Crossing games, users will find increased enjoyment.

Both of these are pure game applications. Compared to Miitomo, they have more prominent game elements, and the game content will tie closely into Nintendo’s dedicated games business. Nintendo will provide more details about these applications closer to their launch period, and aims to have multiple types of apps that appeal to different audiences and different groups of players.

i'm super excited, i used to play the forget out of this with friends on xbox 360 but now that i've got an xbox one i havent been able to play it with them. we've been waiting for this for a while and it's finally comingggggggg

Off Topic / In the market for a new console-- PS4 or Xbox One?

Hey guys,

It's the age-old debate: which console's better? I've gotten a nice bonus of $2k and I'm looking at buying a console. Currently, three of my friends have an Xbox One and are pushing for my money to go to that, but my brother and other close friend are telling me to get a Playstation. I've already got one PS4 in the house (my brother's), but because I'm moving out soon, I'll be taking whatever console I get with me so I wouldn't mind having two of the same console in the house. We've already got two Xbox 360s anyway.

I also don't need to purchase any new PC upgrades-- I'm already running a GTX 970 and an i5-6600k with 16 GB of RAM. I splurged my last bonus on this machine anyway.

So guys, shill me your favorite console. I like both of them equally, and I'd prefer not to purchase both of them-- so which one should I get?

Tyson reiterates how humans have evolved to be superior over lower species, even primates that are nearly genetically identical. Homo sapiens have emotions, reasoning, and brown townytical abilities. However, Tyson challenges the audience to consider the possibility that there is another being or intelligent race of people who are dictating our total experience.

“What would we look like to them? We would be drooling, blithering idiots in their presence.

God and Zeus come to mind. Tyson raises the question of how the so-called simulator looks.

“And if that’s the case, it is easy for me to imagine that everything in our lives is just the creation of some other entity for their entertainment. I’m saying, the day we learn that it is true, I will be the only one in the room saying, I’m not surprised.”

Kind of a neat thing to think about, I suppose.

The idea that Susan B. Anthony will replace Alexander Hamilton on the $10 bill was proposed a few months back, but a vote passed and the treasury announced today (Wednesday) that Harriet Tubman will be replacing Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill while Hamilton remains on the $10 bill.

Apparently, Jackson is being pushed to the back of the bill with Tubman on the front rather than Tubman entirely replacing Jackson.

I'm heading up into the mountains to go camping with 7 other guys and gals on Monday. It'll be a nice getaway from busy college life
