Apparently, the Native American has a history of trying to appear like a victim. His "cultural drum banging" is just used to be loud and obnoxious, and as an excuse to blast your eardrums out if he is right in front of you. Marines are also saying he's lying about his service. Bear in mind he never said he saw combat in Vietnam, but he did say he was serving in that "era." Media sources misinterpreted this as fighting in Vietnam, and have secretly updated their articles and comments to be more accurate. He said he was a "recon ranger." No one in the Marines has that title. The closest thing to a "recon ranger" division would be the "Force Reconnaissance," established 1984, a decade later. The last combat marines left Vietnam in 1971. Also, he would have been 18 in 1972 (some sources say 1973, but the point is clear). He could have served, but there are some things to consider.
It wouldn't surprise me that he lied about serving, considering his questionable past and his intentional dishonesty to the media.
What's so awful is that people are actually sticking to their first impressions, despite seeing evidence that contradicts their narrative. They keep saying the kid did something wrong even when all he did was stand there minding his own business, looking confused. If a person did that in any other situation, no one would think like that. You are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts. When your opinions are based on false beliefs, and you cling like a tick to those beliefs even when the beliefs are proven wrong, it shows that you aren't a logical thinker and that whatever you have to say doesn't add anything meaningful to the discussion. You are basically denying the truth. People are even trying to find dirt on the Covington Catholic School just because they can't handle the truth, and hate being proven wrong. Horribly, horribly, horribly wrong.
Overall, this incident is likely the gold medalist for the 2019 fake news awards. I don't think anything could top this.
