Off Topic / tips for applying to jobs?
« on: August 22, 2013, 07:22:47 PM »
i really really need a job soon and i've been applying online for 5 months now.
does anyone on these forums have any tips for getting a job?

« on: August 21, 2013, 10:08:03 PM »
i dont know if anyone else here has ever ridden the school bus
or ridden the school bus with a ton of loud ass freshman
but it is quite literally the worse experience to go through as a highschooler. They literally are as self-aware as autistic children with giant egos and will do everything within their power to indirectly ruin the school bus for everyone else.

for example, screaming randomly at the top of your lungs for no loving reason whatsoever so the bus driver pulls over in 90+ degree blazing heat to wait for you forgets to stop being literal handicaps.

or yelling "TURN UP" at the railroad tracks because thats so loving funny.

not only that, but the middle-schooler's bus stop is across the street from ours, and they think its funny to make loud ass random noises to get the high and mighty highschoolers to look at them.

then again i cant really blame them because they are my primary motivation to getting a job to pay for gas TO DRIVE THIS DAMN CAR

Off Topic / My mom bought grandpa cologne for my little brother
« on: August 10, 2013, 12:32:52 PM »
My mom bought these little roll-on cologne bottles and gave me one that smells like regular ass musk.
But the other one smells like that stuff that grandpa's wear and he just rolls it on all over his body and its terrible. my mom keeps telling me not to tease him about his old man smell because she wants him to like his new cologne even though its so god damn strong.
He decided it'd be funny to roll that stuff on me so now i smell like an old man and i've taken 3 showers; still wont come off

Off Topic / Does the world change at midnight?
« on: August 08, 2013, 12:09:00 AM »
Right around midnight, everything changes

Everything is 10x funnier

people are 10x less bitchy

and i have 10x more energy

IT was like some kinda text program that you "talked" to and it responded with words you've taught it.

I remember people trying to make it do sing-a-longs to journey or whatever.

Off Topic / High school so far
« on: August 16, 2011, 07:38:57 PM »
Sat in a booth in the cafeteria to eat my sandwich, then 3-4 dudes sit down and another kid tries to sit, but he cant so he just scoots in on the side.
im still eating my food and then a kid comes to talk to the guy sitting next to me, he turns his back and talks to him, then the kid on the other side of the table takes his pizza and eats the cheese from it.

the kid turns around and sees his pizza gone, looks under the table and sees it and starts yelling at him. the kid then takes some of the cheese he ate and throws it at him, he ducks and it hits a girl behind him.
she is all like: "WHO THE forget THREW THAT?"
then they're all: "LOL HE DID" (pointing at the kid who threw it)
then shes like: "IMA BEAT YO ASS brother"
then he leaves shortly after.

then this other guy walks over and is like "GET YO brother AND TELL HIM DONT BE THROWIN stuff AT HER"
and the guy is talking to the girl and is like "is all them freshman over there?"
and she is all: "YEAH THEY FRESHMAN AIGHT"

and then they all leave

and i finish my sandwich

Off Topic / Looking for an affordable dual-core cpu
« on: August 09, 2011, 10:57:12 AM »
so my previous upgrade has been good so far.

but in order to be able to play everything, i need a dual and/or quad-core processor for under 100 dollars.
I should be able to watch a YT video or two to figure out how to install/uninstall it.
So far i've been looking at
this one from newegg
this one from tigerdirect
and it should be compatible with

I've already upgraded the RAM and gpu, the power supply says on the side"MAX OUTPUT SHALL NOT EXCEED 250W"
so help me out so i can brag about it on steam

Off Topic / Programs not displaying onscreen
« on: August 02, 2011, 11:28:13 PM »
I activate taskmanager and it shows up on the taskbar but not onscreen.
the same goes for everything except for firefox.
It just started happening an hour or so ago and only affected task manager.
now it happens with gamebooster and file folders.

Off Topic / Gamestop ripped me off.
« on: July 20, 2011, 11:29:41 AM »
I wanted to return the 2nd stufftiest game on the ps2; Batman begins.
also fight night round 3

after my usual 14 days of trying it to see if it is really worth it, I returned them both. Eager to get back my 18 dollars.

Then after the stupid bitch at the cash register stared at the return policy and googled stuff. she said it wasn't eligible for return with receipt if I dont like it.
even though i've done the exact same thing with sly 1 and syphon filter.

then she brought up some stuff about pawnshop laws. so I wasnt even able to trade it in for what it's worth.

now i realize why gamestop sucks

Off Topic / Another PC upgrading thread(serious this time)
« on: July 13, 2011, 02:24:01 PM »
okay so I cant open up the computer im using now so I will just upgrade my bros pc
so I plan on running some modern games on low settings at least, with this card

now here the problem arises when trying to find ram

when i search for ram it gives me a choice of DDR2 OR SDRAM
but not both.
and depending on what kinda memory this thing has, i might get a different card.
i might even need another cpu.

This time I am completely serious because I have full permission and it's practical.

Off Topic / Video cards compatible with this model?
« on: July 11, 2011, 11:24:53 AM »
So after realizing how long it would take to raise 600+ dollars, I've decided to upgrade the one im using.
my grandpas computer is like a decade old but someone upgraded the gpu so now it runs next-gen games.

what good video cards are compatible with it, and how would i be able to upgrade the RAM
my max budget for a video card is 130, because thats exactly how much i have.
