does anyone have pecon's mod from blocknet that sorts the addons you upload ingame? right now they're all in random order and it's really annoying

Games / Re: The Forgettable Dungeon: Steam Page Live - Overworld Progress
« on: October 22, 2016, 01:16:41 AM »
So I went to steam dev days with Badspot again this year.

It was a lot of fun, I even got sick! yay...

Anyway, some of the textures and sprites here are placeholder but I got dungeon entrances loading up in the overworld:

-snip-

Now I just need to add a spoopy castle in the center, some random caves for players to enter and I totes have a game.
did u and badspot share hotels and beds ;)
how rough is badspot in bed
does he wear his pink underwear after love

Modification Help / Which would be faster?
« on: October 21, 2016, 09:03:04 AM »
Extending on the title: which would be faster? Two raycasts originating from the middle of two points, towards both points, or two raycasts firing from both points toward each other? If firing a raycast from the middle is faster, why don't we use that for weapons and just do nothing if the raycast hits the firing player in the raycast? It seems awfully faster to do that, ignoring gameplay aspects (bullets going through walls if you stand right infront of them, etc). Are the speed differences negligible?

Add-Ons / Re: [1.0.3] New Keypad events
« on: October 21, 2016, 08:53:00 AM »
That's not the point. If the password is stored in plain text in the event (which a client can obtain by saving bricks) then it's all useless.
I mean, I'm just saying as well. Why have this much pseudo-security. Didn't read the post thoroughly. Password seems to be stored in plain-text for events.

Looks like it's just done via client receive hash (for a clientCmd, since no salt you could easily break into this, not that secure), after that it's stored as a client var being compared against (%cl.code)
not bad but you never transmit the code (again, even while hashed, without salts you forget yourself over) to clients because you've basically ruined your security right there

Fix that issue, but until then you've lost my recommendation just for the lack of security. I could masquerade my client as having the add-on, intercept the C
clientCmd to get the hash, send a API request to a hash-cracking site and bam. Got through your door/etc ez pz.
