is it possible to do it entirely server-sided for like a hub?
so like say you have 5 servers that are allocated to hosting 1 game mode, as one fills up, the next one gets selected from the pool dynamically then have the players that click the trigger go to that server etc or is it only possible via client-sided GUIs?

yeah this is the problem that's been happening for me for a long ass time. currently the only way I've fixed it is by running it on an emulator (on Linux) because somehow Blockland becomes more unstable the more you use it???

Okay, here goes.
Doaler (or Doaler4sback) is a problem user that was recently banned on his last account (and subsequently set as a BoS player). Whenever an alt appears, the joke is made that Doaler is back, as he came back with an alt and claimed he was new. Badspot showed up, banned him, and many laughs were exchanged. Rumor has it, him and kalphiter (another problem user that is currently BoS as well I think) still roam this game to this date. However, we can never know for sure.

I mean, hell. the entire keyboard is used for all of the controls and the help menu doesn't help nearly enough, and even then. Something like Minecraft is easy to pick up, learn how to play it and there's no fancy keybinds involved. But, still. There's a huge influx of new players that have come around and I think to stop another "is Blockland dead" topic from reoccurring we need to start working on actually making the game more friendly for new users.
