Considering that hellspy's RP servers which are almost all of the time passworded never got hit, i can assume passwording your server could help.

Then again it might actually be a fanatic member of the servers and that passwording your server wont do anything.
call me crazy but I don't think a fanatic member of your server can generate 1.5 gbps of traffic

Been hosting for a while with nfo and I haven't got down yet but have been hit hard in a way with event logs - but no loss of anything.

So I'm just going to dump the IPs:
63.251.20.251 - New York, US
2.50.152.161 - Unknown

If anyone can find these that would be great, but NFO has been spamming me with the first IP and got console spam with the 2nd IP.
ruhroh!
first IP is a NFO ip!!

Anything hot with the cheeto logo are good. Takis are good. Hot chips, like lays, are trash. The exception are jalapeno kettle chips, but that's it.

us10 has been null routed by Linode due to an incoming DoS attack impacting their network performance. Several other servers receiving inbound DoS attacks, but they typically only last long enough to crash the server and then stop.

There really isn't much I can do moving forward except hope that this stops. This is indeed Linode's policy, and if this continues to happen there is nothing I can do about it. I will continue to search for solutions.
Do you have the source IPs? Release them so we can cross reference with server logs and connection attempts.

The only person I can think of who's able to pull things like this off is MOR. But as far as I know, MOR isn't around anymore.
it's not that hard to go online and find a booter and pay 5$ for access to it for like 24 hours lmao

hold up when
Well, I don't really care if you eat meat from a dying animal or if you eat meat that you've already paid for because at that point there's no choice. I'm not even massively opposed to hunting since it's a tiny dent on the animal population. I don't eat or buy meat because of disgusting and cruel conditions that tens or even hundreds of billions of creatures are subjected to every year. Optimally we would pass serious regulation to require these animals to be given better rights before eventually shutting down processed slaughter altogether. If you wanted meat you could go hunt it or eat one of the many replacement foods with identical nutritional value--however I'm not sure if you could safely digest meat with a 99% vegetarian diet because as someone with 100% veggie I certainly can't. I honestly believe that meat processing today is worse than slavery was in the US in the early 1800s--there are hundreds of animals for every slave and while both are treated horribly the animals live shorter lives and endure what is basically torture until they are killed to be eaten. I'd recommend anyone watch 'Earthlings' or 'Meet Your Meat' to see just how bad the conditions are. The latter comes from PETA and while they are a terrible organization the documentary isn't compromised by a material vision. Anyone who believes in basic rights should really try to wean themselves off meat and try to exclusively buy humane dairy.

Nobody will ever switch to facebook because myspace is a bigger platform.
Nobody will ever switch to Netflix, Cable companies are a bigger platform.
Nobody will ever switch to digital music, CD's are a bigger platform.
Nobody will ever switch to the Sega Genesis, Nintendo is a bigger platform
Nobody will ever switch to...

I could go on and on and on, the point is your "OMG STFU, YOUTUBE TOO BIG, forget OFF" logic is literally handicapped and does not coincide with any form of historical patterns.

When a company starts loving up because they think they can get away with it, they get slapped from behind and forgeted.

Facebook toppled Myspace, Digital music became common place during the early years of the internet and in turn Physical Music prices resulting in things like iTunes taking hold. Nintendo got loving flipped by Sega, Albeit a short term victory for sega, but Nintendo has never recovered from Sega's actions of years past.  Netflix took hold of TV Shows and other things, and while it hasn't toppled companies, it's only going to get worse when Netflix is more convenient than Cable.

You get to Big, you start to go outside your bounds because you think your unstoppable, but the people under you get pissed enough they tell you to forget off and migrate somewhere else. Developers Migrated to Non-Nintendo platforms because of their restrictive rules and regulations, Customers Migrated away from buying expensive CD's, taking a risk, because of one song, to obtaining them digitally, and iTunes made it all the more easy, causing CD Albums to be a novelty at best. Customers migrated from Myspace to Facebook because Facebook was simply superior.

Whatever it may be, whether it's laziness or going past your bounds to do unfair and unjust things, other companies or services will come up and topple you.

If I kept going on and on about this, I think I would run out of space to type this.
you're right about one thing in there
