Fair point. No but really, you do make a good point. My reasoning is just that the people who used the hack are banned, so I figured the guy who made it would be banned too.
That’s like blaming Armalite for all the massacres that have happened with the AR-15 -_-

instead of like, actually making some sort of anti-blhack measure
Creating an anti-blhack measure is EXTREMELY difficult to get right-- and to avoid false positives? That could be a massive rant on it's own. You can see my attempt here

Pretty bold statement to make, why are you riding his rooster lol? Dude made a hack for the intention of hacking, there's all there is to it. It wasn't made to see if you can 'do it', you can hack any game.

Nowhere in this thread is anyone talking about needing help with hackers ruining their servers, we are discussing the hack creator being on the forums and whether or not he should be banned. Don't derail my thread.

Wow, amazing idea! I never thought of that. You're essentially dismissing the thread and any other drama created with this. Why make any drama if we can simply report people and see what the result is?
Immediately assuming I'm riding his richard, and having a fixated mindset on why he made it! Nice meme!

ummm talk about how you didnt work on blhack again
I’ve worked on these projects:
https://github.com/hatf0/blocklandjs
https://github.com/hatf0/blbrowser2

That’s how I know about the internals of Blockland. Not BLHack.

if i write a program that draws squares on a window does that mean im also one of the smartest users on blockland
This is actually harder then you think if you’re going the internal way....
didnt you also work on blhack
No...? I associated myself with Smooth for a while and he made his own version of BLHack but I never developed it or wrote a single line of code for it.
I understand that he no longer does anything malicious, but again - he made BLhack, and boasts about it. Whether he's gone or not really is not a problem to me, I am just curious what the rest of the lot thinks.

Also, there is always another side to the coin with people like this. I met a guy who exposes viruses on his youtube and breaks them down as to how he does it, a 'scriptkiddie' exposer if you will. He sounds like a whitehat, but after talking to him personally on his discord I found that he is also a blackhat - and openly told me he's compromised databases on government websites, and gave me all the tools and how to's to do it. I didn't do it, but the point is that people like this have talent but also an ego, and they abuse it typically; like Val has. Should he be banned, or welcomed with open arms?
So what? He made a hack. Big deal. Ban the people who are using it on your server. With the wave of BLHack brought in an amazing base (well sorta) for making DLLs. All of my DLL mods wouldn’t be here without the work HE did. In fact, ALL of the DLL mods wouldn’t be here. That includes BLBrowser, PlayerCollisionToggle, blocklandjs, SelectiveGhosting, etc. If you can’t administrate your server to the point where you’re able to ban hackers, then you shouldn’t be running a server in the first place.

You guys are starfishs. Just because Val did some stuff in the past doesn’t mean that he should be kicked out of the community forever, unlike sociopaths like dotdotcircle. Yes, he’s a furry. Yes, he made BLHack. The second part isn’t excusable— and, I’m not trying to excuse it. But, hasn’t this witch hunt gone on for loving long enough? Seriously. It’s been, what, 3+ years? Val is one of the smartest, if not the smartest person in regards to technology and coding in this damn community, and you’re all still trying to expel him. He’s a valuable person to have in this community. Stop trying to get rid of him.

that's the thing metario. this website is NOT popular. there are no mentions of it anywhere on the internet. web of trust has no information on it at all. never seen anyone use it until boltster did
the URLs seem to be formed by 8 hexadecimal digits. that makes for over 4 billion possible values. this website, that nobody talks about, is simply not popular enough for a collision with a set of possibilities
furthermore, lord tony has a history with mlp on this forum. it would not only have to be a coincidence crazy enough to have a collision for the only person in the world who seems to be using the website, but for that collision to also be relevant to the user it was posted to tease?
also it doesn't use cloudflarethe ISP wouldn't have somehow cached an image for a URL it never belonged to
i'll give you that. the probability is extremely tiny that this would've happened like this.

on another note i retract my statement:
https://registry.pro/find-domain/imglite.pro
look at when the domain was registered :cookieMonster:

oh but when i make an ARG we dont even try
i don't give enough of a damn to participate in your stupid args sorry

https://www.robtex.com/ip-lookup/109.199.126.192 -> tells me that the domain is hosted by siteground.com

https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/static-cache/
or the more important bits:
Quote
The Static Cache is suitable for all kinds of web sites. It is enabled by default for all SiteGround shared accounts. This tutorial explains how the static cache works, how to enable or disable it and how to flush its cache.
...
Static cache is automatically flushed each 3 hours, so that if there are changes made during this time they become available to your visitors. If you need you can also immediately flush the cache through the cPanel SuperCacher tool.

this would NOT be flushed by a client side purge.

you guys realize that all images on imglite.pro starts with NY2lH, then has some pseudo random string after it, right? if it’s a big enough service they’re going to run into conflicts later down the line, and they’re going to have scenarios like this. i doubt boltster posted pony research, and i’m fairly certain that it’s a image host conflict. you can have situations like this where the server sided cache has not been updated (Cloudflare has SO MANY issues with this, especially JavaScript.), and there’s no way to force purge it from your client.

yes, it’s an unfortunate circumstance, and it can happen. please do some research on server sided caches before thinking that a client side purge will force something like Cloudflare to update their cache. that’s not how it works, and if it worked that way, you would have a way to force Cloudflare to spam requests to their server, which isn’t good

smh

Modification Help / Re: setNetFlag - SelectiveGhosting
« on: April 16, 2018, 11:36:24 AM »
This seems to be correct.

...  I've found that this flag can also be set by running %obj.setScopeAlways() and then removing the object from the GhostAlwaysSet.
When combined with %client.resetghosting() and %client.clientwantsghostalwaysretry(), it is possible(with a great deal of lag),  to cause an object to disappear without using a DLL.
I would very much like to see that.
Code: [Select]
   enum NetFlags
   {
      IsGhost           =  BIT(1),   ///< This is a ghost.
      ScopeAlways       =  BIT(6),  ///< Object always ghosts to clients.
      ScopeLocal        =  BIT(7),  ///< Ghost only to local client.
      Ghostable         =  BIT(8),  ///< Set if this object CAN ghost.

      MaxNetFlagBit     =  15
};

Off Topic / Re: How can someone be diagnosed with depression?
« on: April 12, 2018, 01:03:32 PM »
no person with depression will pass up an opportunity to tell you about it and earn themselves some "excuse from succeeding in life" points.
and take their drugs that dont even work because no one has ever been helped by antidepressants.
honestly you’re classifying the people who actually suffer it with the tumblrettes who need an excuse for why they can’t succeed. there’s a difference, and, quite honestly, if you use a mental disorder (well, exceptions here) as an excuse, you’re probably already a stuffty person.

yeah, you’re right, though. antidepressants are not a magic pill that will immediately make you happy. that isn’t the point of them, though. they’re more of meant to make you stable enough so you can get your life in order, not to make you happy and positive constantly.

there is no example of people being helped on antidepressants. they all just claim "it makes it less worse" when really its just a placebo on that. they still constantly are depressed all the loving time.

the only people who ever cure of it, are ones that get their stuff together in the several places in life they forgeted up. no thanks to pills.
even if it’s a placebo, the point of them is to, one way or another, help you get your stuff together by making you happier and feel less stuffty. in the case of SSRIs, they restore the serotonin balance in your brain to normal levels so you feel more stable, and have less breakdowns, which helps a ton when you’re trying to get your stuff together.
again, they’re not magic happy pills where you can immediately notice the effects. it’s subtle.

hi resident depressed child here
it’s done using the DSM-5, which they generally ask overall questions and more in-depth, and if you fall into a certain classification, then you’re considered either majorly or minorly depressed
majorly depressive disorder is usually where you show the signs of depression for several weeks instead for a couple of days (normally), etc
because they are mentally scarred from a traumatic incident and affects their mood negatively for the rest of their timespam
not really. it can develop from anything. that’s more PTSD.
Depression is a very real and serious mental disease. It's been watered down by people memeing on it and saying "i want to die" ironically or over silly stuff or something similar. It also gets downplayed by a lot of people who are uneducated on it, and some people try and self diagnose themselves with depression or any other mental disease they don't know about.

As for why the medication and diagnosis is typically easy to get from some doctors, is something i don't understand very well myself.

However if you do want an alternative to going to a doctor (which i would suggest, and ask about the different kinds of test they can run for it, if you do go.), then i would recommend counseling. It's still a good idea to go to counseling even if you have anti-depressants anyhow.
meh, the more you stigmatize it and make it seem like this super serious disorder, the harder it is to talk about it freely, and develop a coping circle of those who also suffer from it. counseling isn’t a catchall either, i’ve gone to way many and they’ve done stuff for me, but, ymmv. self-diagnosing though, holy stuff, this infuriates me.
coping mechanism
is very true tho

its a fake condition anyways. anyone can be diagnosed with it.
this is mainly because all of the tumblrettes claim to have it when they actually don’t— all they really want is attention. however,  it does actually exist, and, i suffer from severely so watch ur tongue kiddo
