there is a relatively large back story to this, particularly with me going back and forth with one of the original audio engineers of the 5000 Sounds CD.
it will deserve its own thread and a proper write up.

but here is the software itself, immortalized on archive.org in all its glory: https://archive.org/details/beat-2000

you will want the executable named b2_107a.exe under the 1.07 folder, it will run perfectly fine on Windows 10.

once you have installed and run the program, you can click the FILES button to load different sample packs.
the ones that will interest the community the most are:

Techno/TN5_120.B2 (Stress)
Rock/RK2_120.B2 (Bass, Rock)
Pop/PP1_100.B2 (After School Special)

i am sort of stumped about how you go about checking whether a user is legitimate or not now that authQuery.php is gone completely.

i understood the part about the implementation of Steam OpenID... but then what would i do from that point forward?
have you somehow added BL_ID information to Steam OpenID which can be requested once they have authenticated, or is there another endpoint available that we can query for this?

honestly i just don't see any reason for authQuery.php to be removed at all, it was working fine a few hours ago even with the new steam auth implemented.

just so you know, the removal of isUnlocked() will have broken every RTB and BLG installation since both add-ons use it prior to running any of the main scripts.

Quick progress report, so far I have:
- Designed a new auth database
- Written and tested scripts for converting old data into new database
- Researched steam auth on dedicated servers
- Written new auth server and master server backend

Still need to:
- Update game client/server auth
- Create new name/blid selection gui
- Test all the backend stuff
- Rewrite steamRedeem page

does any of this affect the ability for developers to query the auth system outside the game, as some of us already do with authQuery.php ?
