im looking for something that:
  • has a big screen with a big keyboard for my fat thumbs
  • has the cute android emojis (these)
  • is relatively durable without a case (not that important but would be nice)
  • is not ugly
  • has good battery life
  • has a good interface, not cluttered garbage like the samsung
  • isn't loaded with a ton of unremovable bloatware

i bolded the ones i found the most important. don't actually know much about android phones or how diverse they are compared to the samsung galaxy, but i know what iphones are all about so if i'm not interested in anything brought up here i might just fall back on an iphone 6 or something. all i know is im not really a fan of the s6. (im hoping i can sell the s6 for some $$$)

in my opinion, all guns should be destroyed and people should defend themselves with swords instead. everything would be a lot more interesting.

http://www.fox5vegas.com/story/32857501/argument-turns-deadly-in-north-las-vegas

"Police said they located a 31-year-old man, identified by family members as Mohammad Nestor Robinson, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene.

Nestor Robinson was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning.

A preliminary investigation indicates there was an argument in the parking lot of a business that escalated into gunfire, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.

Family members said Nestor Robinson was on his lunch break at a McDonald's when the deadly incident happened. Katra Nestor, Nestor Robinson's mother said her son's friend witnessed the deadly shooting and told her what happened.

"He was coming into McDonald's and some female was going out. The door closed before she could get out and what happened is she said a few choice words to him," Nestor said.

Nestor said the woman's boyfriend went looking for Nestor Robinson, an argument took place, and he was shot."

needless to say, this is incredibly tragic. i feel like getting shot over mcdonald's is something that only happens in america. either way, that really sucks.

there's a gofundme to pay for his funeral, but i dunno how many of you have money/are willing to donate

"What The Box? Is a very cool multiplayer shooter in which all the players are boxes, and are identical to the thousands of ordinary cardboard boxes that randomly litter the levels – so you can literally hide in plain sight, movement is the only thing that will give you away!"

Paranormal Megathread
"Paranormal events are phenomena described in popular culture, folklore, and other non-scientific bodies of knowledge, whose existence within these contexts is described to lie beyond normal experience or scientific explanation." {X}
Basically, this is a spooky thread for all matters pertaining to, but not limited to:

  • Something strange in your neighborhood
  • Something weird, and it don't look good
  • Seeing things running through your head
  • Invisible men sleeping in your bed
  • Freaky ghost babies

So, essentially, if you want to talk about anything spooky that goes bump in the night, this is your thread.

Aliens/UFOs

What's an Alien?
Aliens are essentially any lifeforms non-native to Earth, anywhere in this universe. Thus, the existence of aliens in at least some form is essentially guaranteed. What is not guaranteed, however, is the existence of intelligent life more or less advanced than humanity. Even less guaranteed, is evidence that aliens have, or will ever have the capability, to visit or communicate with Earth.
What's a UFO?
Simply put, UFOs are any Objects Flying through the sky that are Unidentified by the witness(es). While commonly associated with, and most commonly thought of as Alien space crafts/vehicles, this is not always the case.

Ghosts/Orbs

What's a Ghost?
A ghost is a physical or visual representation (Apparition) of one who has previously passed away, and thus would not be able to appear in the manner that the living would. Ghost sightings are cryptic and hard to pin down, most likely due to the inherently unstable connection a dead person would have with the world of the living. There are however, individuals who attempt many seemingly bizarre methods of communicating with these spirits (See: Ghost Hunters) in an attempt to prove their existence.
What's an Orb?
"Orbs are a highly debated phenomena in paranormal circles. Some people believe they are visible evidence of spirits. However, many researchers doubt whether orbs are ghosts at all. No one knows whether spirits are able to consciously harness this energy or not, but orbs are often witnessed at locations where some form of paranormal activity has reportedly taken place." {x}
Basically, they're... orbs. Typically translucent spherically-shaped objects of unknown origin, associated with ghost sightings and paranormal activity.

Cryptids

What's a Cryptid?
Cryptids are mysterious creatures claimed to have been spotted in real life by multiple eyewitnesses, typically in separated incidences. Some popular examples that are widely recognizable in popular culture are Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, El Chupacabra, The Jersey Devil, and Mothman. There's a whole lot of people trying to find these creatures, leading to many false reports and muddled information. That's why sometimes, the lesser known Cryptids are the most likely to exist.

Isn't this all a bit silly?
To some people, maybe. However, it's usually rather exhilarating to find evidence that paranormal lifeforms may exist, and it can be even more fun to find scientific and rational explanations for such outlandish events.

You awake in a daze.

You look around. If you didn't know any better, you would think you were back in your Rwandan mountain territory with your good pals Gorbuntu, Rignor, and Larry. But you know better. You are in a gorilla enclosure in the Asheboro Zoo, located in Apex, North Carolina. You've just woken up, so you have not yet eaten your daily peace offering from the significantly inferior primate, Linda. A really talkative one, that Linda is. So are all the other strange Lindas that appear behind the barrier of your designated territory. You have taken to calling these creatures Neo-Lindas.

What will you do first?

Off Topic / which story idea is the best?
« on: August 19, 2016, 10:46:43 PM »
ive got some ideas for stories i wanna write, but im going to pitch the ideas first so i dont waste my time on a concept that nobody likes. im tired as stuff and i will revise these in the morning but for now these will suffice, i believe.

concept 1:
a group of middle-aged dads who have been playing golf together at their favorite golf course for 15 years are faced with a dillema when an organization notorious for forcefully repurposing innocent recreational areas into something far more sinister. when diplomacy fails, they have no choice but to lead a violent revolt against the organization, and shake their vicegrip over all of the golf courses in the land.

concept 2:
a humble japanese chairmaker bumps into the daughter of the boss of his local branch of the yakuza, causing his livelihood to be targeted and slowly destroyed for disrespecting the yakuza. the chairmaker knew there was nothing he could do to resist the yakuza directly, but when some goons broke into his shop and ruined the glazed finish on his favorite oak chair, he knew he couldn't stand idly by. and thus, The Chairman was born. reports suddenly appear of yakuza grunts being found absolutely clobbered by a man with extravagant chairs duct-taped to his hands as makeshift blunt force weapons. the story follows The Chairman's struggle to balance his honest work with his vengeful campaign, and morality with justice.

concept 3:
ever wondered who was responsible for the assassinations of the most dangerous terrorist figures in recent history? why their identities were always kept hidden? wouldn't you like to shake the hands of the men responsible for bringing justice to america? unfortunately, you'll never be able to, because the men responsible for these operations are not men at all. they're gorillas. 30 years ago, an fbi geneticist bred and trained the world's deadliest and tactically skilled primates ever known to mankind. these Guerrilla Warfare experts have been retired ever since the assassination of Osama Bin Laden, but they must once again respond to the call of duty when they are dropped in the middle east's most politically unstable regions with only one goal:
destroy CIA.

im gonna be honest, i had no clue there was even going to be yet another spiderman reboot, but finding out that a disney star will be playing mary jane is pretty interesting. it should definitely be cool if they keep rolling with the spiderman redesign from captain america civil war.
