To Terraform a Planet
You're our last hope, soldiers.
The Story
December 10th, 2154. New York City.Nearby NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies detects several large scale masses penetrating the earth's atmosphere, one in particular heading for Long Island. At exactly 11:48 PM, the mass impacts Block Island, plowing through the ocean surrounding it and stopping fully on Montauk point. Human sized creatures can be seen climbing off of said mass, similar reports are received all around the world.
December 11th, 2154. New York City.Hospitals receive an influx of patients, all reporting the same thing. Large, grotesque bites with multiple skin punctures, followed by a bursting chest cavity minutes after. Immediately, S.W.A.T., FBI, and Hazardous Materials Control teams are dispatched to quarantine the end of Long Island. Three bodies of the "creatures," are recovered. None can be identified.
December 15th, 2154. New York City.A meeting is called for the United Nations, leaders of nations meet with the United States president in the United Nations building in New York. The meeting ends in a unanimous decision: that the creatures are to be treated as a threat to humanity and are to be dealt with upon sight. Although their origin is unknown, their purpose is clear. To wipe out all known races on Earth, so that it may be terraformed without resistance from the human population.
August 1st, 2155. Los Angeles.War against these creatures has begun, and yet another meeting is called less than a year later, this one taking place in Los Angeles, New York City being completely overrun and evacuated. This meeting concludes with the decision for a joint task force division to be made and deployed on frontlines around the world. Said joint task force is to be composed of the best and brightest of special forces divisions from around the world. Each specialist is to be taught English if unknown to said specialist.
The Opposition
Your enemies are the Schlatter parasites, named for the doctor who first examined the creatures in New York City. They stand at heights between 5'9 (shortest recorded) and 8'1 (tallest recorded). Their bodies are covered in a thick exoskeleton, underneath a soft and thin layer of skin. Your standard issue TAPW-22 cartridges are more then capable of piercing the exoskeleton, although a few well aimed shots will be required for a confirmed kill. Can't have these things alive and kicking behind the front lines, now can we?
You!
Yes, you! You are a member of the United Nations Joint Task Force, Seventeenth Squad. You are issued a standard 4th Generation Combat Exoskeleton Suit. Your suit's helmet will be able to sync up with your issued weaponry to tell you how many rounds you have in that magazine of yours. It will also let you know how many grenades you have left of the ones assigned to you. That is, so long as the pin on one of them isn't pulled. It also comes with the Battle Buddy, version 17, which will allow you to see a live map of your surroundings captured by satellite, as well as what the other members of your squad are seeing. As well, you have a compass and vital sign monitor, all of this displayed on the HUD inside of your helmet. So, let's talk about guns, shall we?
The most common weapon you'll see on the field is the
TAPW-22, or 'Tap' as most like to call it. TAPW stands for Tactical All Purpose Weapon. It is named this because of its features, all of which qualify it to be several different guns. The barrel is extendable to allow for accurate long range shots. The standard magazine for this weapon contains sixty five rounds maximum, making it optimal for the suppressive effects of a machine gun. And its compact design and medium caliber qualify it as a simple Assault Rifle. Now isn't that great? Now, about your sidearm. I doubt you'll use this much, but this is the
MSA-22, or, "Hand cannon." Most will guess that it's called this because of its large caliber and high stopping power, and we have this to say to most people: You're absolutely correct!

Refer to
this chart (thanks scoot) for ranks. I am the Field Officer. Any other rank is open at a limit to two players per rank,
with exception to the Specialist (3) and Senior Sergeant (1).
Rules of the Road
1. No powergaming. You may be thinking, "We're all on the same side, though, why would we powergame eachother?" The answer is simple, cunt flaps. It's easy to post someone else's action when they're not responding. Don't do it.
2. No godmodding. If I say you're hit, you're hit. Don't just shrug it off, roleplay the injury. You may roleplay being unaware of your injury because of the adrenal rush, but the effects of the injury will still affect you.
3. No stupidity. This is rather simple, just don't be stupid. Common sense, people. (I strongly emphasize this rule).
4. Use proper grammar and punctuation. You have no idea how hard it is to understand people when they don't use full stops at the ends of sentences, and don't capitalize the first words of sentences, and spell words wrong.
That's pretty much it. I'll leave it up to the rest of you to not be idiots. Good luck, soldier.
