If you feel comfortable investing 20$ in a stuffty pair of cleets and funneling thousands into a historic coin collection, thats perfectly fine. If you feel like investing a lot of money in a good looking car with a lot of speed and MPG then that's also fine. It should also be just as fine to invest 400$ into the new pair of yeezys

We're not saying a hobby is a waste of money, we're saying the shoes are

However, collecting shoes is still a hobby. I own like 5 pairs of jordans because they look good and feel good to collect. I don't spend lots of money on cars because I don't see the value in it, but I see the value in shoes. There are people who deck out the outside of their PC to look like an alien power generator, but it makes no difference on the speed of the computer or how it runs. There are also people who mod the rims of their car and stuff so that it looks really cool. Whichever way you look at it, hobby shaming is hypocritical and pretty shameful in itself.

Sure shoes cost as much as a computer does. However, it's not a waste as long as the buyer sees value in it. It may seem like a waste to you but to us it's an asset. The whole argument of 'they're a waste' is blatantly incorrect. 'they're a waste to me' is a better way of putting it

its ironic how the type of people to say "why do you buy expensive shoes they get dirty they're a waste of money ugh" are also the same type of people to create copious amounts of "look at my battlestation" and "check out my new car" threads

people with that mindset are just finding things to rant about and clearly can't appreciate the value an object brings to other individuals. its kind of the hobby elitist who just goes on and on about how other hobbies are worthless and when it comes time to their own hobby they act all showy and telly
