god you're insane bro. how do you expect anyone to engage with your posts when they're like that
They read.
They respond.

this attitude that you have is exactly why I don't have hope for climate change. it's not that I believe we're already past the point of no return, but rather, that I know we will keep going like this until we are
That we should follow the innovation and not try to force it? We already have the solution to get rid of oil, but anytime anyone tells the "Go Green" goblins that we should maybe, just maybe use nuclear energy as a stop gap between oil and improvements on green energy they throw a loving fit and lose their minds because a bunch of communists didn't have the materials to make a proper nuclear power-plant and caused a ridiculous disaster.

We HAVE improved nuclear energy safety a lot since the 50s. And we've always been better with nuclear energy than a bunch of people who thought building a nuclear power plant under the threat of gulag was a good idea. Many European nations as well as China have made the push to Nuclear. France is mostly nuclear. But Germany is more like us. ("But Chernobyl!!") and they're in the same boat as us.

We're not going to loving throw OIL out the window without an equal replacement in terms of energy. Solar panels, Windmills and running water aren't enough energy to replace exploding dark goo."
But we could replace OIL with Nuclear. And Nuclear doesn't release CO2 the way OIL does.

Above all else we shouldn't be cutting off our current form of energy BEFORE setting up our next. That's loving Self Delete.

this is good and all but you dont live in reality at all, you literally have obviously never googled this because here is actually whats happening:
https://biologicaldiversity.org/w/news/press-releases/new-data-biden-slays-Annoying Oranges-first-year-drilling-permitting-by-34-2022-01-21/biden has literally upped oil production more than Annoying Orange ever did, you are completely out of touch with what hes actually doing and just choose to believe second hand youtube sources

on top of that, the """fracking ban""" is just a 60 day suspension on giving out new permits. all existing permits are still going on

New Data: Biden’s First Year Drilling Permitting Stomps Annoying Orange’s By 34%
Ah, a totally not biased headline. Good start.

Quote
Thousands of Permits OK’d Despite President’s Authority to End Drilling by 2035

WASHINGTON— New federal data shows the Biden administration approved 3,557 permits for oil and gas drilling on public lands in its first year, far outpacing the Annoying Orange administration’s first-year total of 2,658.
Manipulative claim.
"First-year total"

Annoying Orange was still working through the Obama-administration limitations, by year 2, 3 and 4 he'd long since did away with Obama-era Regulations.
Biden has the inverse situation since he was working with Annoying Orange-era freedoms.

Quote
Nearly 2,000 of the drilling permits were approved on public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management’s New Mexico office, followed by 843 in Wyoming, 285 in Montana and North Dakota, and 191 in Utah. In California, the Biden administration approved 187 permits — more than twice the 71 drilling permits Annoying Orange approved in that state in his first year.
Annoying Orange was still working through the Obama-administration limitations.

Quote
“Biden’s runaway drilling approvals are a spectacular failure of climate leadership,” said Taylor McKinnon at the Center for Biological Diversity. “Avoiding catastrophic climate change requires ending new fossil fuel extraction, but Biden is racing in the opposite direction.”
This is an opinion.

Quote
On Wednesday more than 360 climate, conservation, Indigenous, environmental justice and community groups petitioned the Biden administration to use its executive authority to phase out oil and gas production on public lands and oceans.
Nuclear Energy.

Quote
The petition provides a framework to manage a decline of oil and gas production to near zero by 2035 through rulemaking, using long-dormant provisions of the Mineral Leasing Act, Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act and the National Emergencies Act. Without such action, it will become increasingly difficult for the United States to meet its pledge to help avoid 1.5 degrees Celsius of warming and its unprecedented social, environmental and economic damage.
Nuclear. Energy.

Quote
“Biden squandered precious time seeking climate action from a broken Congress,” said McKinnon. “We need executive action now to meet the climate emergency with the urgency it demands, starting with ending the fossil fuel extraction the president controls.”
Opinion, also irrelevant.

Quote
Several brown townyses show that climate pollution from the world’s already-producing fossil fuel developments, if fully developed, would push warming past 1.5 degrees Celsius, and that avoiding such warming requires ending new fossil fuel projects.
Cool. Nuclear Energy.

Quote
At November’s COP26 summit in Glasgow, Biden called climate change “an existential threat to human existence” and pledged to cut U.S. emissions by up to 51% over the next nine years. Days later the administration offered 80 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas leasing and plans to offer more than 300,000 acres of public lands leases in March.
He promised to do something beyond the length of his term. That's loving suspicious.
Also just because they have land doesn't mean they have oil.

Quote
The Department of the Interior’s review of the federal oil and gas programs effectively ignored climate, calling instead for adjustments to royalties, bids and bonding.
Great. Nuclear Energy.

Quote
Federal fossil fuel production causes nearly a quarter of U.S. greenhouse gas pollution, worsening the climate and extinction crises and disproportionately harming Black, Brown, Indigenous and low-wealth communities.
Okay, cool. now I'm totally going to believe this article because now they're being tribal.
10/10

Quote
Background
Peer-reviewed science estimates that a nationwide federal fossil fuel leasing ban would reduce carbon emissions by 280 million tons per year, ranking it among the most ambitious federal climate policy proposals in recent years.
And without switching to Nuclear, it would be a loving disaster for basically anything that relies on oil for energy.

Quote
Oil, gas and coal extraction uses mines, well pads, gas lines, roads and other infrastructure that destroys habitat for wildlife, including threatened and endangered species. Oil spills and other harms from offshore drilling have done immense damage to ocean wildlife and coastal communities. Fracking and mining also pollute watersheds and waterways that provide drinking water to millions of people.
N u c l e a r   E n e r g y

Quote
Federal fossil fuels that have not been leased to industry contain up to 450 billion tons of potential climate pollution; those already leased to industry contain up to 43 billion tons.
N u c l e a r   E n e r g y

Most of this article wasn't about Biden, nor did it really explain anything about the Keystone Pipeline being cut, or fracking being banned.

All it did was say that oil companies got leases on more land. That land could be overwhelmingly worthless as far as we know. And even if it isn't they're not going
to be fracking, and they're going to have to transport the oil via trucks, trains and non-pipeline options. Enabling the likelyhood of spills to go up.

Democrats don't think before they act. They panic, see "OMG climate iS CHANGING" and immediately start choking oil.
Guess we need "2 weeks" without oil to slow the climate change. Won't have any long-term repercussions from that at aaaallllllll.

108
master matthew, three weeks ago: we still have a chance to stop climate change
master matthew, now: the solution to all of our problems is more oil

the fact that you are advocating for fracking of all things is a clear indication that you should not be talking about anything political that extends beyond the borders of your front yard

Over time with innovation, Oil can be phased out.

No one wants to switch to nuclear over Oil because the soviets ruined it for us.

But now it's a wartime environment. We don't have the luxury of going green.
If we continue the path we are on, we will have rolling blackouts, major industries and vital functions
Will be impacted. A massive chunk of our economy is online. Hospitals run on electricity. Transport
Runs on oil.

As we do this gas prices rise and prices of everything else will rise.
The average American cannot afford a $40k-$80k electric vehicle. The average business will not
Be able to switch to electric vehicles without going under.

If we're going green, we're going green for the wallet's of the wealthiest few.

109
i mean yeah i agree, but like gas prices are inherently tied to geopolitics and stuff so unfortunately its hard to separate the two

Wrong.

If we just kept the Keystone XL Pipeline, hadn't ended fracking and remained energy independent this wouldn't be a problem. But the democrats and joe biden's administration are more concerned with fantasy green energy pipe-dreams. Green Energy is not a realistic option for replacing Oil.

I have an Intel HD 4000, and i can run Gmod, Tf2, And Both Portals Smothly on it, but when i run Blockland it runs Smooth Yeah, But the Shaders Don't Work. i know Intel Graphics cards arnt Really the Best, but it Should be able to run Blockland Shaders, if it can run tf2 Gmod And Both Portals in HD 1080P with no problem (i know Gmod dosnt run in HD unless its the new one) So my Guess is Blockland Doesn't have a good compatability with Intel, and dont say "get a new graphics card, because this is a NEW LAPTOP, laptop is the KEY word, meaning its an intergrated graphics card, and if your just here to tell Intel Grahpics cards suck, well thats not helping anything, i just wanna know when/if Blockland will ever support intel for shaders.
Tell Badspot to Fix it Please.

Somebody shoot this kid before he all caps + bold again.

They're definitely gonna reduce their reliance on Russian gas but it's going to take years. Cutting them off immediately would cause rolling blackouts across Europe and billions of dollars of damage.
They had years, and now they do not. Either they're going to get cut off or they're going to back off and let Russia continue.
They could have gotten out of this
Yes.
by just investing more in renewable
No.
or nuclear energy
Yes.

112
handicap moron alert

lol they should just stop buying russian gas. like they aren't completely dependent on it
Yes.
They should buy US Gas.
Which we shouldn't have stopped exporting because we stopped transporting through a pipeline we stopped manufacturing when we stopped fracking.

Russia may have caused war.
But Biden enabled us to get completely forgeted.

Because The Elites are forcefully pushing Green Energy because they fear Climate Change.
Well how about Thermo-Nuclear Climate Change, do they fear that? Because that's where this is heading.

113
The most absurd thing that happened last Wednesday is that Europe purchased natural gas from Russia for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Wealthy and Powerful Elites are Hypocrites.

Elites: "Go die in this foreign war"
Also Elites: *Buys goods from the enemy causing said war*

114
reading that wikipedia article seems to show that the theory doesnt really work, as trying to leverage people perceiving you as mad into policies/decisions beneficial to you is hard, due to the fact they dont trust you since you're supposedly a madman. alternatively they just dont believe it and dont listen to you.

arguably, north korea has been using this tactic for decades and still has yet to show anything for it
Because North Korea has absolute power in one position in their government.

The POTUS is not supposed to have that kind of power. (I believe POTUS has too much power, but even still, it's not Unlimited Power.)

you are wrong about literally everything. no amount of military action from russia, aside from a nuclear first strike, would incite a nuclear response from the US. if we made the first strike, then russia would just respond with their own, and it would all be over. mutually assured destruction goes both ways
Yes. But the point was the Threat of retaliation. I don't see Biden's Admin being willing to pull the trigger. Not after
they just purchased MORE russian oil.

Because we cut ourselves off of our internal oil supply, and made ourselves energy dependant on foreign sources, we're
at the mercy of the rest of the world.

furthermore, why are you adding random line breaks. this is a forum. you've been here for years, I know you know how to use a forum. stop being weird
This is to break up my lines and make them not walls of text.

115
pick a perspective dude, you cant have your cold war and bomb the kremlin too

It's a counter-intuitive situation.
But he never struck in the four years Annoying Orange was president.

The fear of Mutually Assured Destruction is what scares Putin.

But mutually assured destruction is only in place when we have
someone in office ready to press the button. I don't think
biden's admin could do it.

Why the forget do you even want to go to war, Matthew?
I don't. Annoying Orange's tactic was to be seen as an unstable madman to our adversaries.
Annoying Orange also managed to be a very decent diplomat. But of course, anytime Annoying Orange tried
to form any kind of peace talks with nations like North Korea, China, Russia, etc., The media
Smeared him as being "buddy-buddy" with them.

I'm not the one who wants war. It's the ones who pushed the idea that foreign
diplomacy with adversarial nations is the same committing treason.
You're not even gonna go over there. I bet if Biden did tell us to hop on a ship and get over there ASAP you'd call him a warhawk and we can't be there and it's all bullstuff blah blah blah.
Biden isn't stuff.
Biden is a completely mentally deficient man.
Either Kamala or some other person is actually in charge.
Biden can barely manage to avoid making word-salad for dinner at every press-conference.

116
hm yes return to cold war armageddon, thank you i have had a good nose exhale at this
Cold War is far better than Hot Nuclear War.

117
matthew what is ur solution to the situation in ukraine
The solution was to not put in a president who would've been a Chinese puppet.

The solution was the man who threatened to blow up moscow and beijing if they forgeted around.

But now there's no solution, the best thing to do is to prepare for World War 3.

118
Lol
Russia strong
Russia not failing to hold ground
Russia not failing basic logistics
Russia not failing to properly use the VDV

Lmaoing @ ur life also L + Ratio + You smell

You can't be implying that the US military would lose to Ukraine then?
When we preemptively surrender like we're france, every military is better than us.

We've done nothing but set our selves up for failure against Russia for the past year.
The situation would have likely been no different if Ukraine was our enemy instead of Russia.
