Okay so classic sonic is actually from another dimension. Sure. And he can do the drop-dash from Mania. I think they're trying to separate the Mania dimension from the main one so that the Mania team can do whatever they want with the story.

I guess this means Super Knuckles can exist in Mania because it was only retconned out of existence in the main universe.

i'm slightly interested in dualbooting arch linux on my server PC for running servers like some minecraft servers and other things, but i want to keep my windows install and not forget it up in the process. how would i do that?

Most of the more popular distributions come with ways to install alongside Windows easily. Arch is a bit different from most in that the installation is done entirely from the command line. If I were you I'd just use Ubuntu server or Debian.

Tbh, as an Arch user, I'd only ever use it on a PC anyway. All the servers I manage use Debian.

Make it mostly built around running in a virtual machine environment. That would be very useful.

Ooh, and maybe base it on Java and market it towards smartphones. There's no way this idea can possibly backfire in the future.

That would make more sense considering the lack of Tails, but I think it's more likely that Mania is going to go with CD being in the future.

Mania could take place before Sonic CD, in the part of the elevator when sonic chooses a button, you can see that the buttons represent the previous games (except the M, which represents Sonic Mania)

Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Mania

I would love it if they solidified where CD is in the story, because putting it between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 makes no sense at all.

That had me thinking, if the version in Mania is the past version, does most of Sonic CD takes place in the future? Or will there be time travel in Mania for that stage's gimmick? And how did they get there in the first place, isn't SS on Little Planet?

I'm probably thinking about this too much, but it does make me wonder if they just threw it in because it's a fan favorite.
