Yes, they were made, however the televised argument to debunk that is that the Earth was in a state that life should not have been able to form in the first place. The atmosphere was too toxic, and the places that would have been perfect grounds for such formation of life was too remote for an electrical charge to set it off. I don't remember what show it was on, but they did a lot of tests on that and couldn't make primordial soup using proposed environments existing on Earth at that time.

Toxic? Most of the oxygen in the atmosphere was put there by life. Oxygen was originally a waste product. Water and the 'building block' elements and molecules were all present in the early Earth.

We assume humanity was created from accidents and what not. However, as technologically advanced as we are, we can't up and throw a bunch of goo together and zap it with electricity and make life. We can manipulate genes and DNA and create glowing tomatoes, bacteria that can spin spider webs, and even dare we say it, a more perfect human if genetic manipulation was legal. As far as I know, the only reason it isn't is because people are afraid of what would result from such experiments. It's not just religious people who fear "playing God"

Actually amino acids were surprisingly easy to create with primordial conditions.

I don't doubt that natural selection had everything to do with us becoming to what we are today. It's as easy to say that god had nothing to do with that, but the fact is, we just don't know that. You can't prove he wasn't there constantly manipulating genes and altering cellular structures to guide the eventual human being from being formed. We're doing this every day in labs, who's to say some alien race didn't do the same over a long period of time? If that's the case, it might explain why homo sapiens suddenly appeared and the neanderthals died out shortly after. We don't know, we have no solid evidence to go either way. Maybe that's where the mythos of a god came to be.

The burden of proof is on you for asserting that God exists and was responsible for abiogenesis. Just because I cannot disprove it does not mean it is logically sound and rational.

My view is that Science was given to us by "god" in order to understand how he works. That Science was intended for us to eventually get to his level and then be able to coexist with him. Maybe that's what the concept of heaven is, technological enlightenment to exist with the being or beings that created us or molded us to what we are today. But I don't see a line dividing Science and Religion at all. Which is much like Martin Luthor did way back when he didn't agree with everything religion was stating then. So he adapted his own views and branched off his own way and others followed. However, unlike him, I could care less if anyone believes in what I do. I feel it's the truth and I'm content with it.

Pretty sure congress didn't make a low saying stay abstinent until you're married. The closest thing congress has made is where if you have love under the age of 16, both children's parents need to consent for the children. Then if both kids are 16-17 it's perfectly fine, and 18+ it's perfectly fine.

At least, from my understanding. I'm no lawyer so there may be some discrepancies.

Abstinence is the religious doctrine of refraining from loveual activity until married. To legislate abstinence only education in public schools is unconstitutional.

Inv3rted is 15.

Thanks, captain.

Not in my mind. Showing us how we were made could be all the evidence needed to prove there is a god. Whether or not this will cause a massive falling out of religion is really up to the individual. Will they see this as proof positive that life was created by a being with technology we can only see as omni-everything described in the Bible? There is a lot that has happened in the world since that book was written that if someone was brought from that time to ours, they would consider us gods or messengers from a god for all our accomplishments that would seem like nothing but magic and godly powers.

My point is that humanity arose from very basic single cellular life through natural selection without the need of a god. We don't know how the first living organism appeared, but we know how it turned into everything that is currently alive. We are so advanced and yet we didn't need a direct creator.

The Bible can not be held as a basis for solid religious fact and I admit that. However, I've never seen the Bible as complete 100% fact as it was written by man as his interpretation on what they at the time thought God wanted us to do. And Man as a whole is flawed so there is bound to be countless mistakes and inconsistencies in there. To use that as the sole argument against it is as faulty as trying to use it to prove anything. I see it simply as a book of moral tales and guidelines to help form a society in which people can coexist together. They needed something in order to form order and structure and it was most likely some person's idea that if we can get a whole town to live this way, why not try to spread the info around? And that eventually led to all the religious wars, strife, and lack of faith founded today. But that is only a guess, but most likely a very accurate one since Man is prone to want control even in the name of Religion or in the name of debunking religion. All human faults, fallacies, and misconceptions.

Your views appear to be fluctuating from a vague belief in a creator entity to a prayer granting all loving biblical deity.

Also, please stop capitalizing atheist like it is a proper noun. It simply means non-theist.

Blockland's playerbase hasn't even hit 20,000.

Roblox has several hundred thousand.

Actually you're wrong there, my friend. If we can play god and create life then there's the proof enough for any "god" to create life on another world by using the same process and in effect explain Genesis itself. Science will eventually completely confirm his existence despite people's need to disprove it. This only makes me happier because it makes the concept of a god all that more tangible. :)

forget my previous post.

Humans reaching 'godly' abilities is evidence against his existence. It's been proven that we are the end result of many cases of natural selection on top of pure chance. If that's all that's needed for there to be a God (as you are essentially saying, because our ability to create life artificially is asserted by you to be godlike), that means he's not nearly as complex nor omni-everything as he is supposed to be. Therefore the Bible lied.

Abstinence is derived directly from religious beliefs.

Our state (AZ) is abstinence-only love ed.  Which means no condoms :(

This should be illegal as it violates the First Amendment.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
