Add-Ons / Re: Blockland Glass 4.2
« on: March 11, 2018, 04:35:03 PM »
My add-on hasn't been approved yet. I uploaded it about two weeks ago. It's called Weapon_Package_EMW

Your addon isn't there, did you actually finish the upload process?

I can help with all aspects of modding, minus the extremely technical stuff. Contact Conan for information how to direct contact me as I don’t always check the forums.

You cannot assume normals will be some variant or close variant of 0 0 1/0 1 0/1 0 0 as it does return the normal of the surface hit. For example, if your raycast hits a ramp brick or static shape, it will return the normal of the face hit

On top of that, there are plenty of high quality, unused, blockland-specific models released in Blockland Content Creators for those who want some. In this case, this is just a port of models from another game. It’s not inherently bad, and someone else released like 30 or so subpar playertypes made from models ported from many other games a few months back too

How about you whip put your head out of your ass and realise no criminal is going to willingly agree to participate in a census.
I'm fairly sure he means that you should do some back-of-the-envelope calculations to figure out exactly how much money a voluntary P2P service would get/need, compared to Youtube.

If 1 in 100 people donated $1, and you have 1 billion users, that's only $10 million you are pulling in a year. 1 in 10 would be $100 million.

Distribute that over a large P2P service and its really not that much. Before Youtube was sold to Google in 2008-9, bandwidth costs were $2 million a month. Youtube has only grown since then, and likely costs at least $10 million a month, probably upwards of $20. that puts Youtube at a loss with this donation system, using the conservative estimate. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2006/10/7892/

And brown townysts themselves approximated that in 2009, Google lost $140 million in the past year. It's really no surprise Google is so worried about keeping ad revenue, considering the growth of the site, both in terms of users and contents, and its significance in modern internet society as well. If it cost that much pre-Google-purchase, it definitely costs way more now, and there's no way anyone can hope to copy the service and stay profitable unless they use similar addictive marketing techniques and video-content moderation.

Modification Help / Re: How do I mount a hat and change its color?

No, it would guarantee it will always show up in first person. Making the bounds big guarantees/increases visibility, which is important if you are doing something like a card mod where many bots are in your hand, and the renderer has problems realizing you can see them while facing certain angles and so skips rendering them.

if u consider a mouth to be one hole and the starfish a different hole, then yes, straws have one hole.

The trick is to make the grey brick out of rubber, but rubber LEGO pieces may be considered cursed in of themselves....

Ah, right, you are correct about that. However, you can't make that assumption as there are various mods out there that depend on bots mounted to players, for example the dueling weapons. I also have heard of a new mod in progress to handle armor/suits (aka Suitmod) that will also make use of bots to save on image slot space, which would further increase the chances of this issue arising.

To be exact, the following situations are my understanding how bot visibility in first person works:
1) If only one bot is mounted to the player, that bot is invisible.
2) If two or more bots are mounted to the player, the first bot mounted will stay invisible while the rest will be visible
  • Caveat: If the first bot is mounted to the driver seat/slot 0 as defined in the datablock, that will become visible rather than the second bot mounted. The rest will still show up as normal iirc.

3) Anything mounted to bots mounted to you is always visible.

Note that depending on the bounding box of the bot datablock, the visibility of it can pop in/out. The stable, reliable bot-based mods I've seen utilize dead bots with large bounding boxes as a result, ex vectorScale("20 20 20", 4).

On the contrary, bots mounted to bots mounted to you are always visible. If you can prove this to be the case, I’d be very surprised, as every case I’ve seen so far has supported my view. A number of mods I’ve seen using bots explicitly does this to ensure the bot they want visible will be visible

Images mounted to bots mounted to you are visible.

Dead bodies are mountable, Conan does this for his dueling weapons. The reason you dont want to use bots for hats is because if more than one is mounted (some weapons use bots for the model), the first bot mounted will become visible first person, in this case the hat.

Edit: In addition, dead bots avert the crouch-stuck issue.

Add-Ons / Re: Dueling Ranged Weapons [Beta] [Flintlock Pistol]

Pistol reload time is 7.6 seconds, according to the script

   stateName[6]                  = "Reload";
   stateScript[6]                  = "onReload";
   stateTransitionOnTimeout[6]         = "ReloadFinish";
   stateTimeoutValue[6]            = 7.6;
   stateTransitionOnTriggerUp[6]      = "Equip";

while the musket is 12.2 seconds

   stateName[6]                  = "Reload";
   stateScript[6]                  = "onReload";
   stateTransitionOnTimeout[6]         = "ReloadFinish";
   stateTimeoutValue[6]            = 12.2;
   stateTransitionOnTriggerUp[6]      = "Equip";

He probably forgot to edit the copied list of information.

that would make sense if this was actually a mistake. however it's very clearly an issue of leftist moderators deliberately silencing conservative channels because they were conservative (as leftists love to do - attempt to silence all opposition), and youtube's trying to damage control and claim it was a mistake. like when a girl cheats on you and says it was a mistake.
Isn't the difference that Google is a corporation, not one person? Their statement is that some novice moderators overstepped the line, likely some new hires that also happen to be SJW. It's a bit much to expect a big company like Google to be able to micromanage every single moderator to prevent any mistakes from happening.

If you want to claim they're lying, on the other hand, then you can make up any reason you want for anything they do. There's not much point for a discussion, or to even read their statement then.

at least it'd have flavor then, unlike a regular tomato
Probably should google your suggestion to see if its been done before...
