Our server provider has notified us of maintenance starting at 1:00 AM EST (06:00 UTC) on March 30th, lasting no more than an hour. They're working on network, and apparently there may be an increase of packet drops and latency during this time.

How embarassing.
So that's why I can't connect to Glass Live.

So basically, when I click on New Control, and the buttons next to them, Blockland crashes.
I've tried all the modified GUI editors I could find, including Crown's, and the same thing happens.

There's always fixes and improvements to be made to help the game run better, be more convenient, help expand the possibilities of what content creators can make, and even make the Steam version more friendly toward the Steam users that we've been getting but then losing after 5 minutes because the game is so bland them and there's no indication that there's a collection of add-ons and such or in-game links to tutorials on creating add-ons, doing cool things with events, building things that do fun stuff, etc

If you were to buy Blockland on Steam though, that's a different story. I have no idea how it works, because it doesn't give you a key. It authenticates using the Steam API for some reason. Blockland for Steam was a bit rushed though, that's why its' system is complicated.

There's a master server. It contains a database with all the keys and BLIDs and stuff. When you auth with a key, it sends a query to the master server, and if the key matches with what you've got, you're in. It then grabs your name, and other stuff. If you want to make bogus keys, you would have to hack into the database and create a new entry. Go ahead if you want. But I doubt you'd be able to. And yes, it only generates a key when you buy the game.

the real question then is what is badspot doing that makes him so unable to write these small changes. i dont blame him for being tired of developing for this game, but i strongly doubt its because he's too mentally or physically tired to. its more bored with the game than anything else, probably.

also phantos is being sarcastic.

Building robots. And other projects. Maybe he is bored. Who knows?

Thank you for speaking on behalf of Badspot. I take it you're his new PR spokesperson.
He's not doing any updates because the game doesn't need updates. Blockland is completely functional, and any issues the game has are at an engine level and are difficult to repair. For now, the game has everything that everyone needs, adding more is overboard.

He's not refusing to update the game because he's tired or has too much work to do; it's just unnecessary.

Good point. That is true. But for some reason it's what the community wants, and we just need to tone them down.

I just thought about what's happening and what Badspot's mood is. I summed it all up so the community can chill out.

That's true, but Badspot can't be arsed, because he just can't rest or recover. That's my point.
He could do them in minutes, but he's doing tiny updates because he can only do them while he can't rest or recover.
