To all the brethren who struggle on a constant basis with making social interaction in real life, to those who don't really seem to have anything relevant to say to the rest of them, to those who seem to be the odd one out, we recognize it! To those who struggle in developing relationships because of inner fears and the inability to relate, we know what it's like. To those who may seem very odd in their tastes and are usually glanced over by your peer's eyes, we relate! All you have to do to join your fellow outcasts is just apply here!

So apparently some kids formed this gay-straight alliance for promoting the co-existence of those loveual preferences at my school and were giving out stickers to everyone. Me, who couldn't care less about the cause and think it's completely unnecessary due to the acceptance of homoloveuals in many areas, did not accept a sticker. As soon as I did this horrendous crime, everyone for it thinks of me a right-wing family man bigot for not supporting the cause despite me never speaking out against the group or people of other loveual preferences than my own during that time, thus making me a pariah. This pretty much shows that they are being hypocritical in a sense and show intolerance and ridicule anyone not for their cause who may also not be against it necessarily, just not caring, and going against the message of acceptance and understanding that they are trying to promote.

Also, I do not hate homoloveuals because they are gay, don't get me wrong, I tolerate them as people. Besides, I know bi loveual guys who also think this cause is dumb.

Sorry for the run ons, it's pretty much a rant.

Off Topic / WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OLD DAYS OF OFF TOPIC?! (Mini-Rant)
« on: September 01, 2011, 03:01:43 PM »
I occasionally see certain kinds of threads where people complain how off topic has become a cess pool of handicapation and worthless jibber jaber along with bickering, and wish we could return to the "old days". Unfortunately, for anyone who thinks we can revert back, there are a few things which really can't be changed and should be taken into account:

1. Not everyone has an intelligence level which is equal or greater than yours. There will be idiots. Ignore them.

2. This is a section for discussing nearly anything, and since we can express opinions on all kinds of things here, which may cause debate. If you see that a debate will turn into worthless bickering, and feel annoyed by it, just ignore it and don't complain about it. You are just shining a spotlight on the crap.

3. Topic Fads: They will happen, just ignore them. You aren't forced to enter the topics. There are idiots that will fuel them, again, just ignore it.

4. If you feel mad that off topic has become garbage, don't get mad, get ahead, in a sense. Be an example of an intelligent, cool headed, well-mannered, contributive, and/or funny forum member. Others will surely follow your example.

There's a lot of threads that are obviously just people trying to troll and you guys feed them like crazy, then when someone insults your opinion you go "OMG TROLL"
^^^^^

Learn to realize that everyone that insults or even criticizes your opinion is not trolling you, although some might be. This goes along with being cool-headed.

There are probably things I forgot, feel free to mention them.

Off Topic / 6 songs that I would like you to listen to
« on: August 30, 2011, 12:21:35 PM »
Loosely inspired by Rave's thread from a while ago.

Basically these songs dip loosely into nu and alternative metal, and I doubt a lot of forumers know these songs considering they are different from the more popular styles of metal music. Try to at least listen for a minute to each song before turning it down. Oh yeah, this is still metal music, so if you are phobic of guitars or something, you might as well not listen at all.

If you have any good suggestions similar to these songs which I may have forgotten, I'll add it on and give credit.

Off Topic / Dodger's strange dream
« on: August 28, 2011, 12:44:23 PM »
So this dream was really weird yet vivid to me, let me start off from where I remember the most stuff:

I was in a concert that I remember some generic band playing Slipknot's Three Nil, and I was jumping and all of that, then I realized there was only like 3 other people in the audience and they were pretty bored.

Next, I was at some house and there were band members of Korn (No one saw that coming  :cookieMonster:) and they were just hanging out. Then Mr. Bean comes over and swims around in a pool and started cooking us steak without many accidents or mishaps. Then we all teleported to Hollywood where we rode one of those tour chain cart things, one of the guitarists from Korn driving it.

Then, I teleport into some weird game that was similar to L4D like game where there was weird robot alien hybrid things instead of zombies. I was going through a map that would be similar to the Turbine Map in TF2 in lego blocks. Then I for some reason went solo ahead into the duct like thing in the map and some bitchy female overlord voice which I assume was the director insulted my speed and claimed she was going to send more minions to attack me.

Then I woke up

Anyone else have dreams like this?

Games / Dark Cloud
« on: August 27, 2011, 08:10:49 PM »

Quote
Dark Cloud (ダーククラウド Dāku Kuraudo?) is a role-playing video game for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) video game console. It was developed by Level-5 and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2000 and 2001 in Japan and American/PAL regions respectively. The gameplay of Dark Cloud combines action role-playing with elements of city-building games. A sequel to the game, Dark Cloud 2 (or Dark Chronicle), was released two years later.
The game's story focuses on a group of adventurers who have all been affected by the destruction caused by a being called the Dark Genie and decide to band together to fight against it. The main protagonist is Toan, a boy who is given a magical stone called the Atlamillia by the Fairy King, which has the power to rebuild the destroyed areas.
The game was originally intended to be a launch title for the PS2 but was eventually released later in the year.[3] The game was generally well received by critics with praise toward its blend of gameplay types. The game has shipped 800,000 copies worldwide according to RPGFan.[1]

One of my favorite PS2 games to date. Just finished restoring Norune Village. This game just has such a relaxing atmosphere overall and a somewhat different yet stable gameplay.

Any one else a fan of this game?

Off Topic / 20th anniversary: Smells like Teen Spirit by Nirvana

Issued to radio on August 27, 1991, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was released two weeks later on September 10 as the lead single from Nevermind, the band's major label debut on DGC Records. The song did not initially chart, and it sold well only in regions of the United States with an established fanbase for the group.[21] "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was not expected to be a hit, for it was merely intended to be the base-building alternative rock cut from the album. It was anticipated that the follow-up single "Come as You Are" would be the song that could cross over to mainstream formats. However, campus radio and modern rock radio stations picked up on the track, and placed it on heavy rotation. Danny Goldberg of Nirvana's management firm Gold Mountain later admitted that "none of us heard it as a crossover song, but the public heard it and it was instantaneous [. . .] They heard it on alternative radio, and then they rushed out like lemmings to buy it."[22] The video received its world premiere on MTV's late-night alternative rock program 120 Minutes, and proved so popular that the channel began to air it during its regular daytime rotation.[23] MTV added the video to its "Buzz Bin" selection in October, where it stayed until mid-December. By the end of the year, the song, its accompanying video, and the Nevermind album had become hits. Both the song and Nevermind became a rare cross-format phenomenon, reaching all the major rock radio formats including modern rock, hard rock, album rock, and college radio.[24]

Just thought this would be something nice to show Nirvana fans. It's been 20 years since it hit the radio.

Off Topic / Why I hate most rollercoasters
« on: August 24, 2011, 09:31:17 PM »
I need to vent this because a lot of people I know in real life don't fully understand. I know some people will mock me here but oh well.

First of all, what I dislike is the empty stomach feeling. I know most people say the fear of it releases adrenaline, but I just clench up in terror instead, especially if I feel it over an extended duration.

Second, I have a strong fear of heights. This along with empty stomach feeling while looking down at the ground and going down 100 or so feet really fast is not necessarily fun for me.

However, I do not have any of these things on waterslides, probably because they are quick and not quite as focused on steep drops and such.

But I still hate most rollercoasters

How chaotic do you think it would be? Would we get good ratings?

I say very and yes to these questions. What do you think?

I sure as heck do, I've seen that guy's posts and he is quite a friend. Plus he's got this music special interest for crappy bands and attention whores a lot.

Who agrees?

Can't seem to get enough of this new song by August Burns Red. The blend between metalcore or whatever you consider ABR as + salsa music makes a surprisingly good combo. Anyone else like this song and ABR?
