« on: March 05, 2023, 10:46:09 AM »I just got some cast iron crockery and I'm almost brand new to cooking things from scratch. Does anyone here have any simple recipes they genuinely enjoyed/were satisfied with making when they were starting out?my go-to ez comfort meal is:
rice (my fav is basmati)
cream of mushroom soup (canned, half water half milk) to smother the chicken and rice in
herbed chicken (usually salt, pepper, thyme, sage, maybe some rosemary if you're fancy) cooked in butter
and if you want to be really fancy, saute some mushrooms with it to go on top

« on: January 22, 2023, 03:35:28 PM »When there's a written recipe with a ton of detail but no ingredient amounts you have to scroll past to get to the same exact recipe but with the ingredient amounts this time.god i forgetin hate it when they do that. like the photos are great and all but show me the no nonsense edition FIRST and if i need it i'll go to the fancy photoshoot version of the recipe

i actually don't use online recipes though, they run like stuff on your phone and waste your time for the most part. i just slap stuff into a frying pan and add spices and see what works. manged to end up making a tasty steak that way. if i do use a recipe i just follow what my mother taught me 😊 tallarines verdes is one of my favorites.
