« on: April 19, 2012, 01:06:55 AM »North Korea doesn't have weapons worth stuffA T72 has a 125mm rifled gun, with ERA packages and NBC protection. It's not the tools, it's the operator. There are plenty of documented cases of Israeli (read as: american) armor being destroyed by arab (read as: russian) armor in combat. It's not a matter of WHO HAS THE BIGGEST GUN, it's a matter of who sees who first, and can land a round on target. Because korea's terrain is relatively mountainous, the visual range enhancement systems of the korean K1A1 are rendered pretty useless in such an environment. T72 tanks would then be able to close the distance and engage.
You also have to take into consideration that SK is using all of our old material. We retired the M114 from active service decades ago and the south took it and improved on it. Their stuff isn't exactly top notch either, but it sure as stuff beats most nork stuff.
