If she was ranting, she would have gone on and on about why people should never hate. She simply stated why she doesn't hate, and her reasoning behind it. Magick Mage does the same thing.
And as long as someone is talking about their own opinion, someone else is not going to want to hear it.
Also, if Sandvich really didn't want to hear about it, he would never have replied to what she was saying the way he did. He should have moved on and gotten back on the math topic, disregarding her beliefs.
Also, for the record:
There is a difference.
