Off Topic / Direct Console and Windows 7 Help

Recently I got Win 7 and apparently there is some problem which causes direct console to not work with the OS. When I click the application nothing pops up, same as if I press the touch sensitive button at the top of my keyboard.
So Im just wondering if anyone has encountered this problem / knows how to fix it?
