well, there re lots of other different modeling options, but alot of them are either for windows, or expensive. here are some links to othr places in the fourum that people have mmade topics of minifigure refreences for modeling:

You can't have trans in a .jpg file, if you are to use paint.net for images, use the select wand to select the white area and hit Delete on your keyboard, but you might wanna make the note white after deleting the white background, or invert the colors then get rid of the black background, thus leaving the white note, but you need to save it as a .png then, and i think for it to work as a particle, it needs to be 64x64, 256x256, and some other numbers i forget... Look at the sizes of the other particles in base/data/particles to help you with sizes you can use

Its a song i found on flashkit.net, it's got a pretty good beat to it
Put it in base/data/sound/music and start a server and in the start server window, hit the Music button, and check Death of a hero and start your server, and place a music brick and use a wrench on it and choose Death of a hero

There is no place to make them, we all use stuff like Notepad, which can be found on ANY computer, and there should be some tutorial of how to make a weapon and everything, somewhere in these forums

All i got to do to get my Blockland working is have Blockland's Server IP Address match my PC's IP Address, though, i ain't sure how it is for you
