This kinda thing was more common with big Garry's Mod addons years ago where people used to use SVN repositories, but i've almost never seen GitHub used as a means for hosting and updating an add-on, even with other add-ons that were big packs of stuff

this is a handicapped question but how do you actually download stuff from github and why does it have to be a monumental pain in the ass for those who are behind with technology I JUST WANT THE loving ADDON not the code. :(

...however, for Blockland add-ons, that also screws with the name of the ZIP by adding "-main" to it, and then you have a similarly named folder inside of that ZIP file that's normally NOT supposed to be there, so it's just all sorts of scuffed

So really, i don't see the point in hosting a Blockland add-on on GitHub...

or just axe the shaders entirely, they sucked, and I dont think anyone even uses them regularly.

I wouldn't say they suck, they're definitely costly on the engine, but they look better with shader mods that i do see a bunch of people using

AVGN voiced Satan in that episode of Smiling Friends, so him and Gilbert Gottfried voiced characters who were polar opposites of each other, kinda coincidental and poetic in a way when you consider the episode of the AVGN that Gottfried guest starred in

Like the other guy said, nostalgia and the fact that there's literally nothing else like it.
Honestly removing maps was the stupidest idea badspot had and I wonder exactly what was going through his head. Did he seriously think that it wouldn't kill blockland or what?

He probably thought that shiny graphics and an emphasis on building the world would attract new players

Though it kinda did, it drove off a lot of older players and then the newer players eventually fell off soon after, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's also a nightmare to find addons that are only on the forums since the search feature loving sucks ass. When I finish my current semester of college I might spend the summer making a website or forum post to serve as a repository of Addons on the forums since Glass is sort of its own thing and isn't exactly the best source of addons from pre-2019. I'd just give a short description + the forum link

Should also mention Kenko's add-on archive just to refresh people's memory of it's existence
