I recognize the usefulness of a nerf gun for a developing child, who is probably too young for airsoft yet. I still have quite a few of my old Nerf guns, but why would I use them if I have airsoft? Its a lot more fun because you actually have range with it lol.

The price paid for not having common sense and even a little bit of safety knowledge. And lack of respect to the gun itself.

At this time, we can enjoy our realistic airsoft replicas and shoot eachother and have fun and pretend were doing the cawwadooty. I'd rather it not turn into nerf. Immersion is one of the primary reasons I play airsoft. You have to have the same amount of respect of your weapon like a real firearm. Military and law enforcement uses airsoft as a means of training, its that prominent.

I thought pretty deep about that animation. No material could really bounce that way with such a low amount of force. The physics just aren't there. It bugs the forget out of me.

this is why all toy guns are handicapped. they are contrary to kids learning respect for guns.
toys just encourage kids to threaten people without consequence.

and yes airsoft is toys for friends.

There have been calls for tighter controls on fake guns, with one local lawmaker - Alicia Reece - saying she intends to introduce legislation that would require fake guns sold in Ohio to be brightly coloured.

This is why parents should be arrested when stuff like this happens. Obviously they didn't teach their child any proper safety whatsoever. My brother is almost 13 and he has an airsoft rifle and gas pistol. Most likely looks 10x more realistic that what that kid has, and he never wants to remove the orange tip, even at our local playing field. He knows not to take the guns outside the house at all unless we are going straight to the field. I have my rifle's orange tip replaced with a metal flash hider. I don't take it out anywhere else but the field. I feel sorry for the boy that his parents were so neglectful to his safety. Smh.

Have to question why the boy didn't stop what he was doing. Has he not been taught to listen to the police and do as they say?

Exactly, the parents obviously didn't teach proper respect.
