Creativity / Custom Clan Logos
« on: November 24, 2009, 01:27:16 AM »
My friend and I are starting our own business and one of the things we do is graphic design. So, if you would like a custom logo for your clan, please do not hesitate to send me a PM or post in this topic describing what you would want in the logo. Rest assured your logo will be designed with the utmost precision and attention to detail as we have a myriad of tools at our disposal including, but not limited to, Adobe Photoshop CS4 Professional and Adobe Illustrator CS4 Professional. You may specify as much as you want in your logo, such as the following:
Key: Items in blue are required. Items in green are optional.
  • Logo size (in pixels/inch or pixels/cm if you desire a smaller logo)
  • Specific color scheme (gradient, tritone, grayscale, sepiatone, etc.)
  • Specific special effects (glow, blur, stylizing, artistic, etc.)
  • Text in logo (your clan's name, obviously)

Also, please specify how you want the logo delivered, whether via PM, posting it in your clan's topic, email, etc.

I will post some examples of logos we've made tomorrow.

EDIT: Finally, some examples.

Made this for the HOST clan. (I'm in HOST, too.)

Created this one for the Drift clan.

Came up with this one for the upcoming Muzzlab Studios clan.

This one's for the CoG clan.

If you want more examples, let me know. I know these are huge, but they're just enlarged to show the detail.

Drama / Holy damn, stop with the "Ban GreenBH!" stuff already
« on: November 23, 2009, 12:20:05 AM »
Seriously? We all know he's an idiot/friend/handicap/etc. Just stop with the hundreds of topics about him already. Is Badspot going to ban him? Very unlikely. Just because you hate someone so damn much doesn't mean that Badspot or any other moderator is going to take action. Does this topic mean I'm siding with him or his haters? Hell no. I swear I've seen upwards of at least 12 topics about this stuff already. Just stop. There's a reason why the phrase, "Live and let live." was coined.

Help / VCE Help - Am I doing this correctly?
« on: November 12, 2009, 12:47:47 AM »
I'm trying to make the game Breakout with bricks, but am having a bit of trouble with the events, mainly the VCE ones. Here are the ones I have thus far:

On the bottom brick (the one that you're no supposed to let the pong hit) -
Code: [Select]
[/] [onProjectileHit] [NAMED BRICK] [VCE_ifVariable] [<var:br:printcount>] [==] [0] []
[/] [onVariableTrue] [NAMED BRICK] [setPrintCount] [0]

What I'm not sure about is the following:

Should I be using VCE_ifVariable or VCE_ifValue?
Should I be using onVariableTrue or VariableTrue?

Modification Help / Proximity Detection Code
« on: November 11, 2009, 01:43:47 PM »
A friend and I are working on a new weapon and were wondering what code would make it so that when the projectile nears a player/bot/possibly vehicles, it explodes. Could someone help us with this? We tried using some code from the Homing Vector, but it doesn't exist on RTB anymore since it was uploaded to RTB2 and hasn't been re-uploaded. Even re-uploading it would help greatly. Thanks.

Off Topic / Bushido
« on: November 09, 2009, 07:06:51 PM »
No, this is not a drama topic, I was just riffling through my world history textbook today and found the word Bushido in the glossary. Apparently it means the following:

Quote from: My World History Textbook
Bushido: "The way of the warrior," the strict code by which Japanese samurai were supposed to live.

I don't know if he made his name based on that or if it's just a coincidence, I'm guessing it's the former. Yes I know, useless topic is pretty useless, I just thought it was interesting. There's your fun fact of the day (if you didn't already know it, that is).

Help / Abnormal lag issue
« on: November 09, 2009, 02:58:18 AM »
I recently got a RAM upgrade for my Dell Dimension 9100 desktop, from 1GB to 4GB (maximum). Ever since then, I have been experiencing very strange lag problems that occur when ~3500-4000 bricks are built. It's even worse on dedicated servers. The processor is a Pentium D (not sure on the GHz), and it's got an ATI Radeon 850 (I think it's 850, might be 800), if that helps at all. Also, it didn't do this before the RAM upgrade; I used to be able to be on a server with upwards of 10000 bricks with little lag.

Off Topic / You've got to be kidding me
« on: November 01, 2009, 01:06:37 AM »
So. I'm playing Blockland around 4:00 MST today. My mom shouts to me, "(my real life name), take a break for a little while!" I shout back, "Okay," and leave the computer. I walk into the kitchen and she tells me to come sit down with her at the table. I think to myself, "Osht, not another lecture..."
I sit down and she gives me a loving half hour lecture about how my grades are so bad right now.

I think, "The forget??"

I'm taking 7 classes, 2 of which are advanced placement and another 2 of which are I.B. Both of the I.B. classes are currently A's, and one of the A.P. classes is an A, the other's a B. In the oter three classes, I have two B's and another A. [sarcasm]Yeah, my grades are real damn horrible right now.[/sarcasm]

I proceed to tell her this and she, not at ALL surprisingly, doesn't believe me. She doesn't think I complete or turn in my homework, and she thinks I text during class. My phone is off during class. I don't text much during school, period.

All I want to say to her is:
Bitch, please.

tl;dr My mom thinks I have bad grades right now when in reality I have four A's and three B's. Give me a goddamn break.

Help / Falling through ground
« on: November 01, 2009, 01:46:07 AM »
Whenever I spawn in any Slate-type map (Slate, Skylands, Plate2, etc.) and immediately crouch without moving anywhere, I fall through the ground. Any thoughts as to why this is happening, because I doubt it's an add-on.

A little game-type-deal to post your favorite "In Soviet Russia..." quotes/sayings/etc.

I'll start.

Help / How do you open Particle Editor?

The title basically says it all. I've seen the script for it, but can't figure out how to open it.

Help / Moving the window(s)?
« on: September 25, 2009, 02:06:11 AM »
Not entirely sure if this is in the right section, but I just went with Help; it seemed most logical.

Anyway, long story short, I was on a server a couple months ago and I saw this guy who had basically taken one of the windows from the bedroom and placed it within his build. I know this was done with console commands, in coordination with the /getid command, but I don't know the console command, besides my guess that it probably starts with [whatever ID was echoed from the /getid command].(some other command);

What is this command if it does indeed exist?

Off Topic / Italicized names?
« on: September 24, 2009, 02:06:41 AM »
Just a random question, but out of total curiosity, why are some people's forum names italicized? For instance, Ladios' name is, Rotondo's name is (yes I know he's a moderator, but there are a few other non-mods with names like that). Is there a reason for this?

Off Topic / GarageBand - anything like it?
« on: September 14, 2009, 02:39:35 AM »
I was just wondering if there's any software out there that's similar to GarageBand, but for the PC (besides Audacity). It's an amazing program and I kinda need it for a project. Any ideas?
