this should exclude the Post your Desktop thread(s) because honestly, you're asking people who most likely have 17-21 inch monitors to post their massive desktops. of course posters should full size that stuff to their native res.
imo 1024 should be the global width limit

i.e. a pupil of Princess Celestia, not some highschool student. this is most likely an advancement in her studies and a great honor rewarded for the stuff she's pulled, not something Hasbro pulled out of their ballsacks.
