there's a simple answer to this, veg.
the most common way to avoid depression is to not think about becoming depressed.
if you have reliable irl friends that would hang out with you anytime, take advantage of that. go out and chill at someones house and veg on his couch playing a 360/ps3 for 6 hours.
go out and walk around town man.
when I lived in small town Hayfield, MN, most of the time the only thing you could do was walk around town and enjoy the air or go to some friends house and waste your life honing your e-skills on CoD.
if you're looking to mold a future for yourself in a career, choose whatever classes fit your interest. do not do anything therapeutic. they will only tell you the same things: "think happy thoughts for the rest of your life"
this never works.
if you want to go for a computing career and it makes you happy, by god go for it. who's going to stop you?
any extra curricular activities you're interested in? track/cc? basketball? football?
any school sport will boost your self esteem and self confidence. i suggest going out for something.
weight lifting classes also benefit you physically and emotionally. with a strong body, self confidence is boosted quite a bit.
i HIGHLY recommend you sign up for after school activities.
and as far as relationships go, don't stress yourself over it. you'll make it worse that way, and when you get the opportunity to get a gal, you'll forget up because you were so hard on yourself before.
the best i can say as far as getting a girl with you, just be yourself. don't try to act like some wigger douche to attract her. this never works and she'll only want you for your snake, not to be committed or anything.
sorry if i ignored the rest of the thread but after reading the OP i just had to bust out some paragraphs.
