He didn't "fail" to choke him to death, he voluntarily stopped upon intense persuasion from Lando and Leia. Also, murderous rampage and ripping arms off? I don't recall that happening in the film.
Probably because you didn't watch them or something, because the line "Droids aren't known for ripping arms off when they lose" is something that like, everyone who ever watched OG Star Wars remembers. This would be the line I was referring to when I said:

Which is exactly what happened after Kylo did the bad thing, remember that? It kind of happened immediately after a very memorable scene in the movie but whatever. Compare and contrast his actions there (shooting, screaming, blowing people the forget up) to his actions in Episode V (whining, allowing himself to remain in custody without a struggle).
