Ground strike. Where is the honor in firing missiles from the air at tanks? At least the cruisers had a fighting chance to shoot back.
You mean to tell me victory itself is not honorable enough?

I fire off two AGMs each at the front maglev and right maglev on cruiser 3.
Three of the missiles slip through the point defense, doing the most damage to the central levitation array.

Gus breaks off. "Why haven't they scrambled air forces yet?"
Gus' question prompts Richard to swivel his head around in search for a possible air defense group.

"I'd imagine the airbase charged with defending this city is some ways away from here. If that were the case, being down a couple of early warning radars probably increased their response times. Either way, we need to break our guys out and wrap things up."
: The Huits do have fighters in the air, they just haven't sent any towards us yet. Raiden gets the honor of dealing with that rabble.

Richard fires all three beam weapons at cruiser 3's port engine.
The beams deal a pretty hefty blow to the engine, and with over half the levitation plates knocked out, the cruiser is now no longer capable to maintain its defiance of gravity. Slowly, but surely, it begins descending towards the river as escape pods begin firing off.

Bell starts the trip back to the battlefield.

"stuff, I'll move to take out Cruiser Two's SAM turret, but those anti-air vehicles are going to be a problem."
You are now back on the field.

Tippy despite having taken damage from the volley of AA fire, comes back around for another run. This time sending an AGM towards the AA on the main deck.
The AGM knocks out the next AAA without a problem. The skies are getting much safer. The ground is just as unfriendly, however, as your pal reminds you.
: Excellent job scaring off those flying bunkers, but in case you didn't notice we're still getting pounded down here!

Jaakko shoos the dogs away and returns to Yukamo.

"Gods, why'd you pull a gun on them?"
: First of all, I didn't actually get to pull the gun out before I realized it was your dog. I wish I had, though. If I was that slow and that was an attack dog that got in here, I would be dead and you would be too. Why don't you get them a leash or a kennel or something?

Bell requests 10 AGMs whenever she gets to the AWACS
You receive 10 AGMs, which is more than these loadout cards were prepared for.

I dive down and head around  the front of the cruiser.
I try to escape the impending wrath of the turret.
You both choose to dive down and fly under your respective cruisers, intending to face the PD turrets below rather than the SAMs up top. Minor damage is sustained, and you are now behind the cruisers.

Gus drops altitude and fires off two AGMs at the right engine on Cruiser 3.
The first missile is taken out by the point defense, and the second knocks out half of the levitation plates.

That sounds absolutely brilliant. Nefarious and immoral, yes, but brilliant.

Ugh just forget it, I am not making a full city map to divide up into a small portion, I'm just going to do a bare minimum detail one. Blue is the area in which the tankers are stranded, black divider is the river, dark green is forest/low density development, dark grey is densely developed cityscape, light gray is a highway. Red are the three cruisers, from left to right 1, 2, and 3; and the little red lines are their current heading.

Walt; annoyed, clicks his tounge and deploys two chaff then pulls up to fire the KSM at the top missile turret.
Shiva Base EV 58
No piloting bonuses or penalties
SAM x2 provides penalty of 50
Chaff x2 provides bonus of 80
Test taken at 88
Rolled 54 - success
Test passed

You dodge the incoming missiles, but the evasive maneuver throws off your aim and you miss the turret. You will pass the cruiser at the end of next turn, meaning you can still attempt another shot. However, past experiences/knowledge gleamed from teammates over the years/your own research reminds you that said top-mounted turret carries a nigh-bottomless magazine of missiles, and engaging it at point blank range may not give you time to evade if it fires again. Then again, you are in a Shiva.
Note: A point-blank SAM shot will be resolved on the same turn it was fired. You will take an automatic evasion test without use of countermeasures to see if the attack hits.

I drop 2 chaff and try to fire my MMS at the turret slapped on top of the cruiser.
Rafale Base EV 76
No piloting bonuses or penalties
SAM x2 provides penalty of 50
Chaff x2 provides bonus of 80
Test taken at 106
Rolled 31 - success
Test passed

The incoming missiles take the bait and you return fire with a handful of your own, three of them making it through the defensive PD screen to hit the target. The turret remains active, and will likely fire again next turn, putting you much in the same situation as Walt. You can keep flying towards it to continue your attack or break off and come back for it later, but be aware that you are not in a Shiva.

Gus unlocks the throttle and rockets back towards the battlefield.
You are back in the fight, in missile range of all three cruisers.

I head back to the battlefield and try to line up a shot on the guns on cruiser 2.
You are lined up, but too far out to use your guns at the moment.

"Roger that. Drone: resupply, 4 JSM."

Richard pushes forward on the stick and descends back to rooftop height. He starts moving towards the second cruiser and readies a JSM.
: AFFIRMATIVE.

Your drone disengages and heads to the AWACS to resupply. You are in missile range of the cruiser, but should probably specify what you're trying to hit.

Tippy takes a UAC shot at one of the AA on cruiser 2
Yah the anti aircraft vehicles
You waste one of the AAA tanks, but get lit up by the other two.

i am drawing up a map, next update will take a while to come out

"Gods," Jaakko whimpers, "They're just dogs Yukamo!"

He approaches Talko and takes him by the collar, and turns him around. Jalko is a bit further down the hall, sniffing around a couple doors.
: Yes, a dog. An animal that you apparently found roaming around the jungle. And you're just letting it wander wherever the hell it wants to, are you crazy? It's a wonder someone else hasn't shot it already.

The point is, if he doesn't want stealth in his setting, there won't be stealth in his setting unless you manage to convince the OP that a lack of stealth would negatively impact the RP as a whole from a meta perspective. You simply cannot argue for it from an in-universe perspective because this is science fiction and any sort of techno-magic solution, be it realistic or merely plausible, can be thought up to counter it.

Maybe you make yourself invisible to heat. Cool, have you also plugged up the exhaust so that they can't pick up your engine emissions? What if the scanners don't just search for heat or radar, but also for spatial distortions as a result of using the Alcubierre drive? What if the scanners are just that good that they can spot a ship visually anyway?

We make four handwaves-
Alcubierre Drives for interplanetary travel (Speeds measured in fractions of an AU/Day, new technology)
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Alcubierre Drives a hypothetical FTL system? Because light can go one AU in about eight minutes.

Tippy flys back around this time firing her UAC on the remaining Laser on cruiser 1
Bell approaches the cruiser on her run and fires off the remaining MML missiles and the AGM at the remaining laser turret on it.
The Sabre shoots through the space separating the cruiser from the city skyline, shuddering as stray bullets hit its fuselage. Richard pulls up and spirals around, attacking the remaining turbo-laser with two of his own.
The aft cannon is overkilled to death. The skies are now safe(r). There's still the matter of the other cruisers' missile turrets, but at least you don't have to worry about being freemed to death by a gun meant to take out other cruisers.

im probably just oging to fire my mms at cruiser 3 wihle trying not to get dinked by whatever weaponry it has
The turret slapped on top of the cruiser slings two radar-guided SAMs your way as you close the distance. (You should probably also designate what part of the cruiser you're firing on).

Walt corrects his course and heads towards cruiser 2
"Changing targets to Cruiser 2."
And you pick up a pair as well from your target.

Tempest and Hawkeye are both resupplied and are able to rejoin the fight. Cruiser-1 continues to back off, albeit slower than the others. It appears to be heading towards the river bridge nearest to the trapped tankers. Hatches on either side of the flight deck blow open and the cruiser begins rapidly jettisoning its escape pods. With the turbo-lasers gone and movement much less restricted, you may now begin focusing on thinning out the enemy armor keeping your allies pinned in the historic site.

Jaakko goes silent and turns. Talko appears in the hallway, and sniffs around the base of the walls. He looks at Yukamo, anxious about her reaction.
It takes her a while, since she's still trying to watch TV, but when she finally notices the dog in the room she leaps up from her chair and reflexively places a hand on her holster.
: Holy loving stuff, are you serious? You cannot just let that thing walk around the base unattended.

Indeed, bullstuff is still bullstuff. If someone posts research, we should just ignore it, right?
no, you should bring it to the attention of the admin so it can be dealt with
