As Bell zeroes in on the escort cruiser, she sees in her mirrors the AFS Blixtkrig breaking in half as a series of secondaries rip through the fuselage. Likely a result of her shot from a few seconds ago.

Ellie takes a shot at another one of the Blixtkrig's PD emplacements.

Xiaomei's Wyvern sharply pitches upwards and begins climbing to throw off the targeting solution, but not early enough. The gun Crash was attempting to destroy blasts the entire aft end of the Wyvern into molten slag, and what's left of the front half tumbles uncontrollably onto its back.

As he passes the somersaulting wreck, Crash can see in his rear-views the orange flash of an ejection seat firing as the pilot escapes.

Walt evades the Odslighet's impending attack, but maintains course towards it. As he does, his eyes fix on the flagship and his mind settles on one singular, burning purpose. He grits his teeth, burying his grief and pain, letting it fuel his determination.
Xiaomei knocked out the gun targeting Walter before she went down, and there's no warning of another targeting fix.

Cannon rounds perforate the already stricken Tornado. Before Lorens could react, a shockwave slams him against his harness, thrashing his head and knocking the wind out of his lungs. He pries his eyes wide open to find stars whirling around him in the roosterpit.

"... This is Snowman... I'm punching out," Lorens calls out to no-one in particular, unaware his roosterpit has gone dark and that there was only static coming out of his headset. He sluggishly reaches for the canopy release and pulls the ejection handle.
Snowman begins his slow descent in his chute, realizing that if the rest of the unit doesn't complete the mission he'll probably be dead before he touches the ground.

Onyx knocks out the Evig Seger's port engine set, and a slew of JSMs and gunfire begin impacting against the Odslighet's hull.
Point Blank against the Odslighet and its escorts next turn.


The destruction of the Blixtkrig has bought precious seconds for the defense.

Walter's plasma cannon strikes right down the top flight deck, setting off the munitions and fuel stored there and kicking off a chain reaction that nearly claims his own plane as he flies over its top.

Jaakko checks to see if his seekers will pick up the Obslighet's special weapons. Miraculously, the AAM seeker returns a lock.
"The Obslighet's weapon is running hot enough to pick up heatseekers! Ellie, help me out with this! Could you hit the guns on the lower deck?! Xiaomei, could you pick up the last gun on the top deck?!"
He fires his AAM and HSM at one of the lower deck guns.

"Imperial aircraft, the Aesthian carriers have refueling booms on their wingtips behind the CIWS emplacements, in the tail boom, and along the hull. Striking it may cause a fuel fire,"
: Understood, thanks for the heads up.

Ellie breathes a sigh of relief as she hits her target and sees the cruisers going down.
"Captain, should we head for the carriers?"
Ajka's muscles slightly loosen after watching the bomber begin it's doomed descent to the ground.
"Thanks for the assist. And yes, we should head for the carriers."
She vectors her crippled airframe towards the remaining airships and starts to cruise towards them.
This happens.

"Snowman, Winchester," Lorens exhales into his mask, "Approaching Blixtkrieg for a run."
Praying to the Ark mother his guns will do something, he places the CCIP over the Blixtkrieg's starboard intake and slowly pulls the trigger.
"Guns!"

The Odslighet's escorts, as well as the carriers, open up with a defensive salvo of SAMs. The last plane in Rauths Maniple goes down to the Aesthian flagship's guns.
: All planes, listen up! We've completed brown townysis of the enemy craft. The Carrier Odslighet has three energy weapon emplacements on its exposed flight decks- two on the larger lower deck and one on the smaller one above. Spectral brown townysis indicates the weapons project a stream of ionized gas at over 3500 meters per second, like some kind of plasma-based railgun. The beam appears to dissipate three kilometers out from the point of origin, and should have no effect beyond five. We have observed that the weapon requires several seconds to charge before firing, and will be able to warn pilots in its predicted area of effect.

Ajka reels back as the massive shot-blast shreds her left wing, turning it into a gnarled mess of metal ribbons and fragments, sending jagged shards of metal and polymer into the side of her roosterpit. She recovers herself as best she can and tries to account for the loss in lift and control.
"Airframe heavily damaged, at this point it's more air than metal..." she lets out over the comms.
She aims for the right-side engine of the Vaduren and fires all her weapons at it.

The particle cannons vaporize two neat holes in the engine's armor plating and breach a fuel line beneath. The highly reactive gas is ignited and begins to burn- and under very high pressure due to the particle cannon's breaches only being centimeters wide. In a matter of seconds, the engineering crew is incinerated, and from outside Ajka can see the engine housing begin to glow orange in spots before the entire section explodes.

"Alright, I'll try to cover you."

With the Temnabog, Masakra, and Vaduren all destroyed, you have bought yourself some breathing room. The nearest airships to their target are now the two foremost carriers. Additionally, both air wings have more or less regrouped in their attack on the heavy squadron.

Walt grips his flight stick tighter and sighs in annoyance. "I'll take the Temnabog myself." He begins lining up another shot of plasma on the bomber. "We don't all need to pile on this thing at once when it's nearly dead."
This happens.

"Roger that Walt, don't let that gun overheat."
Bell starts aiming for the nearest engine block on the Maskara.
This too.

Lorens follows Bell's Su-57. He cues the Masakra's engines through the TGP and keeps his thumb primed over the munitions release button, waiting for a saturation attack from the allied fighters to release his last missiles.
And this.

Jaakko brings about his Tukreb. He aims and fires his EML at the Temnabog’s last plasma gun to protect Walt’s attack.

A handful of Imperial planes lay into what's left of the Temnabog, and it begins to pitch downwards. This close to the target though, it cannot be assumed to be out of the picture yet. The Masakra also comes under attack, but the PD knocks out over half of the incoming munitions.

The particle cannons impact against the roosterpit, vaporizing two neat holes in the roosterpit. Before the disappointment can set in from the (relatively speaking) minor damage, you spot the glow of rocket engines rising rapidly from below- a quartet of SAMs from one of the local air defense units. Three of them are shot down by the laser defense turrets, but one manages to reach its target, right below the roosterpit. The control center is destroyed, its contents spewed skywards in a plume of burning debris.

"Thanks for the assistance."
Ellie fires four HSMs at Jester 1-2 and starts aiming.

Onyx and Rauths destroy the AFS Grzmot, its meager defensive installations picked off by gunfire allowing a pair of missiles to impact inside the hangar deck and set off a catastrophic chain reaction. Two of the attacking planes are picked off by the Odslighet.

Walt lines up and fires a final parting shot on the Tyazhelamek, just to be safe.
The stricken airship is hit with no further change in course.

Lorens finds the Temnabog through the TGP display and cues its nearest engine bank with a SPI. He brings the rocket CCIP back out and puts the pipper over the target and fires the remainder of his rockets with another two AGMs in tow. "Rockets, rifle on the cruiser!"

A plume of white flame erupts from the point of entry as the thrusters go dark.

The Tyazhelamek begins banking and pitching down with nobody at the helm to correct for the loss of power. The dozen missile impacts that follow from the Imperial squadrons don't improve its situation at all, and it can be said with full confidence that the airship won't be reaching its target.



Ajka gently pulls back on the stick and orients herself towards Nectar-3, firing her guns after she lines up a solution on the MiG.

The sole remaining point-defense gun shoots down one of your heavy missiles, and an interceptor missile from the Tyazhelamek takes down the second.

“Firing,”

Jaakko looses four JSMs on Bell’s target.
All at once, the missiles strike along the engine block, blasting through the weakened armor and damaging the vulnerable internals within. The relatively low yield of the JSMs compared to the AGMs proves to be a significant boon rather than a downside- rather than simply destroying a huge portion of the engine within, vital areas are pierced by shrapnel. One such area is one of the vacuum-sealed plasma containment chambers. As what happened with Snowman's Raven, air is sucked into the breach and ignites in a brilliant explosion that severs the wing entirely.

Lorens slaves the TGP to the Forintelse's starboard engine.

"Snowman, attacking target," Lorens ripple-fires two AGMs in concert with Bell's and Jaakko's volley.
Lorens' missiles are engulfed in the explosion.

Skytracer's team follows the allied fighters into the formation and finds them getting picked off by the Aesthians, who have regrouped at their cruiser formation and are staying within their defensive radius. The Imperials are keeping them occupied, allowing Skytracer and company to close to missile range unopposed.

The diesel engine next to you clanks into gear and roars to life as the tracked vehicle begins pulling away. A ball-shaped turret on top whirrs quietly as it tracks past you, a yellow-green shimmer betraying the existence of a large focusing chamber. Once the AAA reaches the end of the street you hear shouting in Aesthian and the report of automatic rifles, answered by a ten-second burst of pulsed laser fire. Then, silence.
