"[Whoa, stuff!]"
I pop flares, and double back. I try to get on Tukreb-4's tail.
Considering it's still flying towards you, you can't exactly get behind it yet, nor would doubling back assist you in that regard.
It launches another HSM at you and then breaks away, basically daring you to come after it.

Tippy drops flares and returns the favor with a counter HSM and AC5 fire trying to take care to not get shot in the face by a PPC or LCP.
Tukreb-3 drops flares and turns away, ending up perpendicular to you.

Tukreb-2 is currently staying at a distance, not following up on either of you.

I correct my flight and head After the turkebs, looking to get on one of their flanks.
The other group of planes are currently focusing on strafing the cruiser with their coaxials, with the exception of Tukreb-5, which is not engaginng and simply watching over its allies.

I close on the bandit on Tippy's tail quickly. At this speed there's no way to turn fight. I take a shot with a JSM and quickly follow up with a shot from the P3.  I turn off and pull up to regain altitude.
(The bandit was flying head-on)
You are able to get the JSM off just before Tukreb-3 drops flares, and, still being at a considerable distance, the plasma shot goes wide.
Tukreb-2 starts flying towards you, attempting to follow you higher up and launching an AAM.

"I'm starting to wish I brought some anti-aircraft armament."
: Yeah, so are we.
: Better start dropping those bombs of yours then. If the Imps see you causing trouble down below, that might take the pressure off of us.
: But what would she even target?
: I don't give a stuff! It could be a gas station, car dealership, or a goddamn department store for all I care, just do something to make yourself useful!

Tippy opens her comm
"Found em. I'm gonna need the rest of you guys up here asap. We got six advanced amigos looking to play hardball. I'm just a loving strike aircraft with 3 HSMs."
Tippy arms her missles wishing Roger was at her side right about now.
"Got it."
I put on full afterburners and head towards Tippy's position.
Two of the Imperial planes lock and fire on Tippy, and one fires on Tourist. The rest fly straight past them, intent on attacking the cruiser.
: We're under attack by Imperial aircraft! Where did these guys come from!?
: Must've lucked out and been on patrol when we hit the airbase.
: So... they're probably running low on fuel or something now, right? We just have to wait it out?
: Don't count on it.

I pull up a thermal HUD to see if I can find anything.
No luck.

I remain at altitude, but kick in the afterburner.
Nope.

I turn right after having achieved altitude and increase my speed
No.

Tippy throttles her way up to Marauder and flys ahead following the recent missile trail, searching for contact.
By using your noodle and following the missile trajectory, you are able to close enough to spot the enemy planes. Unfortunately, you are completely alone out there, in a strike plane, facing off against several advanced fighters.
: "Tippy", you see anything from where you are?

None of you see anything as you scatter upwards in different directions, but you do get to see where the missiles were fired from as they crash into the cruiser.
: No, ahead of us! Quit screwing around and get your asses up there!

Once he's up there, he tries to restart the Artemis system by... turning it off and back on again.
It comes back online, ready to use.

"God dammit! Hawkeye defending!"
I jink and drop chaff then try to scan the horizon.
You successfully spoof the missile, but don't see anything on the horizon.

"Marauder, where is the source of the lock? Check your RWR. Give us a vector,"
: It's coming from head on, but I can't see anything. Wait, we've got two, no, four- stuff!

RGMs come streaking in from above the cruiser and destroy several defensive emplacements.
: We're hit!
: Those were too small to be ship-based, the enemy must have some stealth fighters in the area. Mjolnir, peel your eyes and track those cowards down!

The lock warnings on Yui and Kibble's planes become missile warnings.

Has anyone heard "Cinematic" yet? I don't think the bingo card can take many more buzzwords.

"I mean, if you insist,"

I lock up the Phantom and fire a JSM.
You hit it straight in the side, and it starts fleeing towards the edge of the AO.

Shortsword and Hawkeye receive radar lock warnings.
: Whoa, something's got us locked in, you guys see anything out there?
: Negative, Marauder, I'm not picking up any enemy contacts.

Can you read? If they're lying to everyone about how much they care about attention to detail, they very well could be lying about other things as well.
