Bell opens fire on the Sabre with a well-aimed shot from the PPC.The PPC punches straight through the reactor, destroying the plane entirely in the ensuing breach.
Bell closes in on the Sabre with two seekers and a burst of LCP fire, she tries to line up a PPC shot on the fighter. He drops a flare to trash the missiles, and continues to fly evasively. However, after observing him you become familiar with his pattern and reckon you could hit him with a PPC.
I see Bell's two missiles going in for the Sabre. I shoot one off along with the other ones, and then I start firing my AC5 at the Sabre. You have even less luck than your squad leader. The plane drops the last of its flares to avoid your missile and evades the majority of your cannonfire.
I pull the ejection handle, and hope I don't get sliced in half by my pursuer. You feel the distinct sensation of a rib snapping as the wall of air hits you. Fortunately your pursuer leaves you alone.
"Oh, stuff!"The enemy Sabre begins ducking and evading, they'll probably turn the tables on you soon if you don't get any help.
I bank and get on the Sabre's tail.
"I pull back closer to the launch site. I can see the rocket from here. You see the rocket begin its ignition phase.
"I hate this thing!"You take a glancing hit on your wing and the Sabre fires a heatseeker at you to finish you off.
I keep maneuvering to avoid getting hit.
"AWACS, is Comro available? My engines fighting me so I can't dogfight. Any RGM's you could put together for me?"
Bell shoots the Rafale with the LCPIt is shot down. While the heat sinks have begun cooling the PPC to more usable levels of heat, the inside of your roosterpit is still oppressively hot, almost distractingly so.
Bell fires off two heatseekers at the Rafale as she closes into LCP range.Out of flares, the Rafale can only attempt to evade. Though it miraculously succeeds in dodging the incoming missiles, it is no longer chasing Crash and now at the mercy of your pulse laser.
I shoot my AC5 at Sabre, trying to help Yui.The Sabre. It is a plane called a Sabre, it is not your teammate gone rogue. You give it a few hits, but it continues to pursue your squadmate through the barrage.
I continue evading, and drop my remaining flares, breaking hard to get on the Sabre's tail. You manage to kill the entire salvo with your pair of flares, but have no luck getting behind the Sabre.
I gun the engines and follow the Rafale. I fire an HSM in angry pursuit. You attempt to turn the tables on your rival but your starboard engine simply isn't having it. You get off a single heatseeker before it leaves you in the dust, firing another two AAMs as a parting gift.
After watching both of the missiles explode, I decide to go for the Sabre. I double back in hopes to get on his tail. It's preoccupied dunking on Yui at the moment.
"Can I get some support? This Sabre's pissing me off."It lands another few hits on you with the pulse laser and launches another MMS-6 salvo.
I continue trying to evade the Sabre's fire.
Bell flies back to engage the fighter escorts.welcome back to the party, take your pick as to who you want to blow up
Bell flips on the afterburners and the turbocharger to get to maximum speed, firing her PPC at one of the missiles and loosing a heatseeker that would be theoretically fast enough to catch up with the other one, though she tries to spray it with her LCP too.The PPC hits the first missile with no trouble. The second is then shot down by the LCP after igniting its second stage and beginning to outrun the heatseeker.
I see if I can shoot the missile down, and I even make an attempt to lock onto one of them so I can fire a HSM.Not a chance, Lefty was too far out. Kibble got it anyway.
"forget!"You avoid the next burst, but the Sabre keeps up.
I turn hard to avoid getting hit by the lasers.
"stuff, get rid of that bomber!"Though your missiles overcome the bomber's flares, punches a couple of molten holes in your fuselage as you attempt to close in and use your guns. Another salvo of laserfire comes from behind, reminding you that the Sabre is still chasing you.
I fire off my two AAMs at it and spray it with cannonfire.
"Oh forget"They all reach the target, despite another attempt at deploying CM.
I bank right and fire 3 HSM's at it.
I pull hard and engage air brakes to try to force an overshoot.
Bell turns back around and shoots the bomber from behind with the PPC.You punch a hole straight through the topside port engine, blowing it to pieces. The bomber lurches to one side, firing off what it can as it goes into an uncontrollable descent. Two huge, slow missiles start accelerating towards the mercanan rocket.
I hear the spike and decide to break. I'll get that bomber soon enough. The incoming missile goes off-target, and unfortunately, so do your RGMs. The Rafale attempts to pursue you and acquire another lock.
"Someone else take the bomber, I'm defending," I report.
I evade and drop countermeasures.
Bell dives down on the bomber and fires a seeker and the PPC from above and breaks away. The seeker does some serious armor damage, while the PPC blasts a hole in the lower port engine intake. The corresponding engine belches a cloud of smoke, but performance doesn't appear to be affected.
I drop flares and break hard to avoid the MMS.Two missiles in the salvo are able to keep up with your flares and maneuvering and smack into the side of your fuselage and starboard wing. No serious damage is done, however.
I fire an HSM and shoot the AC5 at the Rafale. It drops flares and breaks off from its pursuit, freeing up Crash.
can't I just lock onto the bomber so that the radar triangulation kicks in?the bomber that had the triangulation bonus was the one 2 of your teammates were already locked on to, not the undamaged one nobody else was locked on to
