I just buy the stuff I want and skip the stuff I don't. I don't really feel like I'm "missing out" on guns or mods that I wasn't going to use in the first place.

"Yeah. Sorry i've been a little quiet. Its weird being here and not on an airbase. Let me get those for you."
I offer to help carry the bags.
She hands you your baggage and flags down a taxi. As you're standing in the arrival pickup area, you receive more than a few odd looks for your choice of headwear, but no comments.

The taxi ride takes you along a road across the river from a decently-sized city. The sun has gone down on the other side, calling attention to the abundance of neon lights and holographic billboards lighting up the city streets.
: So... the helmet. I take it you aren't fond of showing your face? Do you want to borrow a scarf, or a hoodie, or something? Something more comfortable?

I fill out the necessary paperwork and pay most of the fees.
Yukamo just stands around watching the bags and helping out with the paperwork.
: Alright. So, unless you're hungry, we should get back to my place.

Keep it progressing naturally. I don't wanna see anything shoe-horned imo.
That's the intention. Tippy is friends with the technician, which is why she invited her to come back to Kintharia for a while. Yui's got Kintharian islander heritage, so Raiden's resident bigot wants to 1v1 her to reinforce her superiority complex. I just don't know what to do with any of the other guys. Like, the only pilots I can immediately identify as having solid and unique characters are Roger, Tippy's friend (or ex-friend) and sort of shady character; Nick, the enthusiastic and cheerful guy; and Bell, the competent but aloof squad leader. I guess they just haven't interacted with NPCs enough for me to see what they're made of, or maybe I haven't been providing them with enough opportunities to do so.

"Is this a replica or is it authentic? I'm asking cus i have a C&R license which could help halve the paperwork. Real shame about the ammo. Black powder cartridges isn't something used very often."
: It's authentic. Problem's that even with the license it's still gonna take forever for the paperwork to go through. We might be able to pick it up when we come back here to leave, though.

>zippy is the only character with enough development to be taken on a 1 on 1 with the DM and she's only been here for a quarter of the RP
It just felt like a natural progression of events. Gojira's also getting a 1-on-1 with the other DM because his character has a trait that is conducive to interacting with the NPCs. I'd like to be able to do this sort of thing for everyone, believe me I hate leaving the other players out in the cold, but I just don't know what to do with the other characters.
i dunno if you want some sort of special thingy your character could do just PM me or contact me on steam or something

Yukamo asks the clerk. He gives her a response and then goes to a side room.
: He says he's got a Model 4818 and a Mercanan single-action officer's revolver.

Being the gun nut she is, Tippy is able to guess what guns are about to be brought out.
: Y'know if you wanna see something really neat, I have an older-model Zentragothic service rifle at home. The thing is a monster, I think you'd like it.

I purchase a spare magazine for my service pistol. I ask the clerk a question.

"Do you have any antiques that i could look at? Pistol or rifle is fine. Also vintage ammo if possible."
The clerk (a human, here) just stares confusedly at you, not sure what to say. Yukamo has to repeat the question in Kintharian to get an answer.
: He says they've got a few vintage pistols from the First World War era, but no ammo for them.

after quite some time i spot a little gun shop which basically was a hole in a wall. I push open the door and walk in.
It's not very impressive, most of the stock is unremarkable pistols and civilian variants of service rifles. The Mercanan SCAR-10 just isn't the same when it's limited to .223 caliber semi-auto instead of glorious 7.62mm at 620RPM.

After letting Tippy loose for a while, Yukamo returns to the meeting spot with the bags.
"Does Kintharia got any gun shops that i can look around in?"
: Look around in, yes, but good luck buying anything from one while we're here. By the time all the paperwork is filled out and processed, the war will be over.

She notices Tippy's gun sitting in its holster.
: You brought your military ID, right? Might need to take it out if someone asks about your gun.

would actually be very easy to simulate
The EMP effect? Yes. The explosion's effect on aerodynamic stability? Probably not.

oh god dammit
ok
emp lance?
If you want to attempt to be a total munchkin, sure, just be aware that the EML is very short range and has a very slow fire rate.

Also, vortex missiles aren't available in the sim, since you can't exactly simulate their effects. It's one thing for it to simulate a hit from a gun or a laser or an explosive, it's another to create a vacuum and force a stall. That stuff ain't safe anyway.

I pick out the PAK-FA for the duel, and load it with:
2x LCP for coaxials
2x heatsinks
2x VTMs
6x AAMs
2x Extra flares
you don't actually have the weapons and equipment put on your plane, you know

The bots that take orders in a Kintharian food stall are "dumb" AIs and don't even acknowledge things that aren't relevant to their work. Their responses are limited to stuff like "Hello, may I take your order", "Our daily special is [variable]", "That will be [variable] moneys", and of course, "I'm sorry, I didn't understand that".

Helian domestic robots on the other hand are capable of human levels of intelligence. You can actually hold a conversation with your Helian robot butlers and whatnot. Helian combat automata are equally intelligent, at least when it comes to tactics and risk assessment, but have a more limited vocabulary and a few essential rules of robotics ripped out. For very good reasons, Helians have not attempted to build machines capable of self-improvement.

tl;dr Kintharian robots are mindless drones, while Helian ones are actually intelligent.

"suggestions Yukamo? The last in-touch experience with civilization was when i was actually a happy person."
: For food? Can't go wrong with squid n' stuff. Not actual stuff though, that's just gross. You can get some from a stall here.

Yukamo stops walking suddenly and starts fishing through her pockets.
: stuff, you guys use dollars, I gotta give you some of the local currency.

Taking out her wallet, she hands you a wad of Kintharian paper money.
: Go get something to eat, the stalls around here all have the menus in multiple languages so you should be fine. I'll go get our bags and meet you in the food court.

She points towards the food court. It looks like all the stores are fully automated, with either touchscreen-only inputs or synthetic attendants.

"You'll have to give me a few minutes before we even consider eating something. Don't your people eat stuff like squid n' stuff."
: If it lives, we kill it and eat it. Except people, for obvious reasons.
